Walters place has an idyllic setting. It is a working horse farm, close enough to Austin for ease of travel but far enough out that busyness and stress just melt away. The night sky is gorgeous due to little light polution and the many horses that surround you are beautiful to just sit and look at. They enjoy sharing their stories and their award winning horses with their guests. What a totally wonderful place to stay.

The property is gorgeous and the cabin has a lot of charm. Walter, his wife and staff were amazing. I really enjoyed my stay and will definitely be back!

If you are looking for a rural getaway, this might be the spot for you! The cabin is a duplex located on a huge horse farm. This side (this listing) is the smaller one. It's like a studio with a giant king bed, table/chairs, mini-kitchen, bathroom with standing shower. The mini-kitchen has a microwave, sink, and mini-fridge+mini-freezer. The theme of the room is TEXAS. Texas & cowboys everywhere. So if you're into that, this is your spot. I did not like that we couldn't control the temperature in the room - the main part of the house where you do that. But you can open the window to adjust. Outside of the cabin is the real shebang - acres on acres of beautiful greenery, beautiful horses, and hilly views. The owners have a pool and backyard area near their house with a nice grill, and you are welcome to use it the whole time. One thing I really loved was the view from the pool - rolling hills and flowers. There's also a doggy obstacle course. And you can feed the horses in the barn with the designated treats. And there's a fire pit (sort of makeshift one). The owners were very accommodating to check-in and check-out (flexible) and they also provided us with a welcome basket with freshly baked cookies. They even provided us with utensils we were missing - cutting board/knife, etc. Also, it was fine to let our puppy run around the property - she had a blast! Pros: beautiful nature, pool with a view, grill, welcome basket, owners very accommodating, Cons: no temperature control in this side, not a full kitchen (rent the other side to get that). We had an amazing time during our stay. The property is very beautiful and there is a lot to do! The hosts were very helpful and accommodating.
