We had such a great time! John was so accommodating and friendly. The place was exactly as advertised and the neighbors were friendly too! We loved the location and the lakefront area was so much fun! The spacious dock, seating and available water toys made it even more fun! We will definitely be back!

Cute little cabin on a beautiful property. The host made us feel at home and made every effort to make sure everything was great. We enjoyed staying here and highly recommend it.

Hess lake was a great location. Close enough to Grand Rapids for a quick trip if needed. An hour or so from "up north" and other lakeshore locations. Clean lake. Sandy bottom. Sand bar in an area of the lake where boats anchor and swim. We rented a boat from the host's friend for the day and this was a fun option for our family. VERY CLEAN. Plenty of linens, towels, and kitchen items. The listing said there was no washer and dryer but there was a small stackable combo there. Teens slept in the bunk room, we slept in the queen bed, and we had 2 adult guests stay with us 2 nights and slept on the two pull out sofas in the main living space. Dressers for clothes.Extra linens for the pull out sofas plus extra pillows and blankets. Three wall AC units total worked great. Shared stairs to the lake with the neighbor but that was no problem. Fished off the small dock. Small area off the grass with loungers to sit and enjoy the view. Would recommend for a small family, we had the BEST time

Johnny was really friendly and willing to resolve any issues that arose. He even brought over some toys for our young kids. The cottage was centrally located. There is a cute store with ice cream just a few minutes walk.

We spent all weekend fishing at the lake which was just a few steps away! Caught too many fish to count. The party store a block away has good ice cream, and the newaygo brewing company is great for pizza and beer!
