Our new favorite spot in PR. We've been numerous times and Mary and Jim's place has been our favorite. Such wonderful people who make you feel at home. The space is a spacious 2 bed/2 bath well furnished. Kitchen has everything you need and then some. The pool, the hammock, having coffee and breakfast on the patio looking out at the beach each morning was great. The area is quaint. We walked every day, restaurants less than 500 feet away. Our favorite which is a short 10min. drive to Rincon was Mi Familias Pizza. Really nice spot which Jim and Mary told us about. We will definitely be back.
Can't say enough about Mary and JIm's interest in our having wonderful stay. They couldn't have been more helpful, accomdating, and friendly. They say that travel brings new experiences and friendships. This was certainly true. We felt as if we were staying with long time friends who wanted to show us what a great place / situation they are sharing. Like any great host or friend they wanted to ensure that we had all we need: from a well outfitted house (need swim shoes or a cooler or umbrella for the beach no problem) to directions or suggestions where to go / what to do / where to eat local. We reccomend their house to any and all and look forward to going back soon as we feel like will be visitng friends there now.
The only reason I gave a 3 was because it was hard to find. With that said, if it weren’t for Mary taking time to help us safely get there, it would have been even more difficult. It was late, dark and we were not familiar with the surroundings. Mary was extremely helpful when we told her we were lost!!! Thank you Mary
We had a great time staying at this lovely place. The ocean is right across the street. Mary and Jim were right upstairs. They were the most welcoming and respectful neighbors you could ever hope for. They were friendly and easy to talk to, but also didn't want to intrude so asked us if it was okay for them to use the pool!?! The area has welcoming restaurants, local road stands with food, drinks and produce, beaches (so many beautiful beaches), surfers and sea birds every day. You can also go looking for events like the Saturday Markets or evening Art Walks. Or just hang out by the pool looking out at the ocean. (We did a lot of that!)
Casa Birdsong is in a great location right along the beach and very easy to find. Upon arrival, Mary met us with a big smile and gave us a tour. Mary is very friendly, responsive and answered all of my questions very promptly. We also had a lot of good conversations with Mary! The house is very welcoming, clean and had all the necessities you could need for a short or extended stay. There was plenty of kitchenware, bathroom and beach towels, washer and dryer, Storage space, etc. There was also a lot of beach items (cooler, chairs, snorkels, etc.). The pool was a great addition and we loved having this as an option to return to after a long day of exploring. There are quite a few close restaurants, which gave us plenty of options to walk to for evening food and drinks. The road in front could get a little loud on the weekends with people cruising, but that didn’t bother us in any way. We truly enjoyed our stay and would definitely love to return to Casa Birdsong on our next visit!

We love to come to our Beach House in Puerto Rico. Because of our work in Telecommunications, Jim & I have traveled to many, many locations across the US, Canada, Mexico, Australia, Fiji, US Virgin Islands, Bahamas, and American Samoa, just to name a few. Scuba diving on several of these trips. In our earlier years, two of our sons traveled with us as we homeschooled them to be able to be on the road as a family. In our travels, through the years, we've stayed in all sorts of big name hotels, motels and chains, boutiques, Inns, lodges, B&B's and Airbnb's. We came to Puerto Rico in Oct. 2017 just weeks after Hurricane Maria/Irma. Our mission was to help with the restoration of the island pertaining to telecommunications. We were here so long and became so connected, we decided to make it our home and "Bought the Beach House". With encouragement from our friends and neighbors in Aguada, PR, and in our decision to share our lovely Beach Casa, we opened up our Casa to share and became a Host with Airbnb. We are not a management company. This is our home. In furnishing our Casa we wanted to give our guests what we felt was the best of what we've experienced to help create their home away from home. Simply put, the comfort and all the amenities of home. The location in Aguada was just ideal for us. There are several other couples living on the same road with whom we socialize with by going out several times a month to new and different restaurants in the surrounding area. Or a potluck at one of our homes. We have many favorite dining experiences in Aguada and nearby Rincon. You'll need to browse our Guest Book for a list of our favorite spots in Puerto Rico. It was through the encouragement and support of our friends in PR, whom also have Airbnb's, that we ventured into the world of sharing our space. Jim and I are continuing to work on the road together, off and on. I hope to be there when you join us at Casa Birdsong. When we are in PR we live upstairs in Casa Birdsong. This is a duplex. You'll have the whole first floor to yourselves. We respect your privacy but are available if needed. When we are not in PR our dear friend, neighbor and Co-Host, Laura will be available to assist you as she lives just down the road from Casa Birdsong. We love our Beach House! We love where it's located and how convenient everything is to Aguada. We love our neighbors and community of Aguada. We love the vibe of the beach front. We LOVE Puerto Rico! And hope that you'll feel the same after your stay at Casa Birdsong. We basically love the warmer weather so, making PR our home was a good fit and we're pleased we have the opportunity thru Airbnb to share our home, this tropical piece of paradise, with you and your family, friends and companions.
