Notre séjour chez Jill a été formidable. Jill est au petit soins ainsi que le personnel. Juste à côté de la plage l appartement est idéalement situé. De plus Jill nous organise une visite de Bazaruto ..le top . Merci Jill

Jill's place is fantastic! Her and Jeff are great hosts and their place is perfect for relaxing in Vilanculos. It is right behind an empty lot that is directly on the beach, so you are able to easily see the water from your hammock. We had a top unit, and they are well equipped with a kitchen, large bathroom, 2 bedrooms, and its own balcony. It also has nice cold AC in the living area and the 2 bedrooms! There are a number of places to eat nearby, and some great kite schools (check Vilancool). Jeff's company does boat rides to the local islands and does a great job (we went to Bazaruto). The rooms are cleaned everyday and there is always someone onsite. Next time we go to Vilanculos, we would for sure stay again.

In the end, we had to leave this property early. There were several issues, some from a false description of the property and others caused by the neighborhood. PROS: Very clean, very spacious, good AC, very close to Oddysea Dive, which was our main reason for going. CONS: Misinformation, extremely loud baraca (bar) next door. The description of 'What this place offers:' Sea View/Bay View. This is a bit of a stretch. Yes, you can see water through the trees from the second floor apartments. It is far from an unobstructed view of the sea. Cooking basics. There was no coffee maker or French Press to make coffee, which I consider basic. Host greets you. We were not greeted by the host, but by the caretaker (I assume). Unfortunately, we don't speak Portuguese and he spoke precious little English. We'd be ok with that, but he could not answer any of our questions. This generally would not be a problems if there was a book/folder/binder of information about the place, what was available and local information. There was nothing. We were handed three laminated menus from 2 restaurants (one was a duplicate) and that was it. Breakfast provided. The description clearly stated that breakfast would be provided. I asked the owner when it would be provided and she told me none is provided and there would be an extra charge if we wanted breakfast. I took a screenshot of the description and sent it to her, and she said some like 'well that is misleading, isn't it.' And that was it. Now, to be fair, I have just looked a the description and it has been changed now, but that does not help us. The last straw was the bar directly behind the apartments. The music, and I mean LOUD music, started about 10 PM and went until 5:30 AM. That is no exaggeration. Literally ALL. NIGHT. LONG. This on not the owners fault, per se, but there was little sympathy. Even the people at Oddysea Dive, which is across the street and behind wall and shrubs on the ocean, heard the music. We got no sleep. We have had great success with AirBnB up to this point, but Aurora Apartments was a truly bad experience for us.
