Forfar is situated in the Strathmore valley. 30 minutes from Dundee and the coastal villages and beaches, 45 minutes to Perth and Aberdeen and 90 minutes to Edinburgh and Glasgow. The house is large and roomy, with many original features. Well equipped for the needs of family groups, warm and cosy, with WC facilities on all 3 levels. Glenisla House is a traditional 4 bed, terraced townhouse, situated in a quiet little lane which forms part of the Forfar Heritage Trail, only 500 mtrs through an historic Vennel to the town centre. This 19th Century, listed property, sleeps 8 people plus cot. It is ideally suited as a family holiday home, for small groups who wish to take advantage of the beautiful scenery surrounding the town, the activities available in the area, or as accommodation for joint family celebrations. Accommodation comprises a large open plan, family/dining/kitchen with seating for 10, couch, wall units and piano, and fully equipped kitchen with wall and base units; double family bedroom suite which consists of a double bedroom (with cot) and a separate small single room with an adult size single bed; a hallway with a newly fitted WC with Wash Hand Basin, (which means there are now toilet facilities on all 3 levels) , and curved stairway with balustrade and stained glass window; a balcony landing leading to a further 2 double bedrooms (one with king size traditional style bedroom suite), and another with a double bunk bed sleeping 3; a large lounge with seating for 10, with hand carved oak fireplace, and electric feature fire, and ornamental ceiling; a newly fitted bathroom with wash hand basin, WC, and over bath power shower (bath seat provided). The basement area has been opened out to incorporate a games room with 2 double Japanese futons, additional seating, and 4 piece family bathroom. Outside space provides a fully enclosed, and gated, garden across the lane, laid to paved areas and shrubs, with barbeque area, and bike store. The chipped driveway provides parking for 2 cars (3 with practise), and public parking within 100 metres. A substantial welcome pack will be provided on arrival and linen is included. Dave’s a lovely host, the house is in a great location and full of character and would love to stay there again. Welcome pack was top notch.
For what we needed it was a great place and perfect at the price and Dave was a great host going above and beyond with the welcome pack. and the place was exactly as described. Just be prepared for a range of what I can only describe as very eclectic decor. Loved it, had it's own quirky feel.
Glenisla House is a very spacious, stone built townhouse over 3 floors. Well situated in the centre of town with easy access to shops and supermarkets. Dave met us personally at check in and gave us a tour of the property-a less common occurrence in the age of keysafes. House is very well appointed and the kitchen had everything we needed and more. Dave left us a very generous welcome pack. Beds were comfortable and our 1yr old loved the challenge of the stairs! We really enjoyed our stay.

We also welcome Corporate bookings for any Staff you may have working in the area and have the expertise to liaise between Management and their Teams to make this a home from home.
We also welcome solo travellers and those requiring the Family Room occupancy with a toddler or baby, with a discount available on request for the use of only one bedroom . Our price, however, is for the use otherwise, of the whole house, parking and gated garden.

We are 150 mtrs from the town centre and 2 lovely pubs just around the corner from our quiet and peaceful location. Pet friendly. Fantastic walks, fishing, golf and close to Glamis Castle and the beautiful Angus Glens. Lots of local eateries and shops to browse. a selection of supermarkets within walking distance. Fishing villages and beaches close by.
Aberdeen Airport is an hour away, with Edinburgh and Glasgow not much further. Trains run to Arbroath and Dundee, 20 minutes from us, and local bus services are frequent and well priced. Once with us a car is not necessary though we have free parking for 2 to 3 vehicles.
