The location is absolutely stunning. The house is as described, very much like camping or living in a tree house. Beautiful and basic. There were some issues with kitchen equipment as previous guests had rented both floors and moved stuff around, but Kelly and Elias were very quick to respond. The photos are a bit out of date with the house looking a little more tired - for example no longer a palm roof on the balcony which was a shame - but overall a lovely place as long as you are expecting it to be basic as is clearly explained.

La estancia fue muy grata. El cuidador Elias nos recibio muy bien y estuvo muy atento a las necesidades. En general la relacion precio calidad esta bien, y la informacion detallada por Kelly explica muy bien el tipo de alojamiento rustico que es, justamente lo que nostros buscabamos, y con nuestra porpia playa privada. Como sugerencia es conveniente puedan mejorar el equipamiento de cocina. Platos habian dos de vidrio y tres de plastico, y agregar algunos cubiertos. Seria conveniente tambien puedan realizar una fumigacion regular para las hormigas. Entendimos el problema grande del sargazo, lamentablemente el impacto no lo pueden revertir, solamente pueden limpiar la playa del terreno de la propiedad, pero el resto de la costa que no tiene una propiedad al frente esta totalmente tapada de restos de anos de sargazo que no permite se pueda salir a caminar. This house is exactly as advertised. A quiet house right on the beach. Kind of like camping. We were pleasantly surprised by how comfortable we were without air conditioning. The hosts were very responsive to all our questions.

kellys place is the best place to forget about time and stress. you can sit on the terrace or your private beach and listen to the waves :) the village of mahahual is about 20 minutes by car, but there is a restaurant next by if you don´t want to cook. the housekeeper elias was always very friendly and nice and he picked for us fresh coconut from the garden :) we enjoyed to stay a lot and can just recommend the place.
