Silvia’s casita is simply stunning! Her attention to detail, from the lighting to the fresh flowers, is unparalleled. The pool is serene and lush, surrounded by gorgeous thriving plants. The place is immaculate, spacious, and beautiful. It’s clear she was able to bring her vision to life thanks to her background in architecture and design—she’s thought of everything that would make a guest’s stay more comfortable. Her library is bursting with informative reads about the region. She provides a detailed list of restaurant recommendations. And she is a dream to communicate with—friendly, proactive, and helpful. A truly exceptional find!

What an amazing experience! Silvia is an amazing host. She is attentive and proactive. The property itself was beautiful. My trip was part work and part exploration and it was the ideal place to work and relax. I stayed a week and managed to finish two books (there are no TVs) which was so refreshing. The lighting can be made to be peaceful. I listened to shamanic music and lit incense. Silvia encouraged lighting incense and candles. That was very unique in my experience. There is a kitchen (yay!) I was on a vegan diet for a few days in preparation for a spiritual ceremony and I was able to order groceries for delivery and cook my own meals. There are a lot of amazing restaurants around the area and Silvia has a list of recommendations, but it was awesome to have a kitchen (stove top, toaster oven, microwave, coffee pot, etc.). Everything you need you have in the kitchen. Wifi is amazing too.

Such a wonderful stay at Silvia’s, where to begin. The house: beautiful, spacious, well stocked kitchen with all of the tools and appliances you need to cook elaborate meals, + large fridge/freezer. Comfortable bed, beautiful pool oasis for cooling off, reliable internet for remote working- really everything you might need. Location: truly, perfect. I would always want to stay around here when I return to Merida. It’s right on the very edge of where things get really touristy, which means you are in a real, awesome neighborhood (which also happens to be within a 10 min walk of 90% of the best bars, restaurants, and cafes in the city), but your street is quiet and you can completely avoid the tourist trail if/when you want to. It’s very rare to find somewhere right at the intersection of both worlds and this is one of them. Host: incredible. Silvia was so responsive, so supportive, and demonstrated such concern for my wellbeing from our first message until goodbye at checkout.

Where do I begin? Silvia's place is one of the best Airbnbs I have ever stayed at (and I have stayed at many!) It is more than an Airbnb- it is a curated experience by someone who cares deeply about design and wants you to have a beautiful, memorable stay. Every aspect has been considered, and Silvia will show you everything in detail. She adds little thoughtful things around the house like flowers. She also provides delicious coffee and a bookcase full of books and yoga mats if you wish to stretch. The backyard was gorgeous- perfect for relaxing with a little plunge pool. In the evening, it is lit up with beautifully lit light. The garden has beautiful tropical plants and a tall green living wall. The kitchen is beautiful as it is flooded in light from the bi fold doors and has everything you need. She offered me invaluable insights into the area as I have been looking for a house to buy. As a local architect, she knows the area well. Thank you Silvia for the most amazing stay! xo
