I’ll admit, the lodge is very quaint and Carrie’s a certain rustic charm. You can’t beat the location, the nearby Nordic trails at snow mountain are phenomenal. However, there is no element of customer service from Scott that would make this feel like a hotel. The host doesn’t communicate and lacks hospitality skills. You’re basically renting out a back room of his Keller Williams real estate office.

The funky charm of the Viking Lodge cannot be denied. While not the opulent attempt at luxury pushed by chain hotels, the Viking Lodge quietly focuses on the meaningful attention to details: the modern/old fashion wash basin, the wooden walls and shelving that give off a genuine rustic appeal, the step risers call out the names of perhaps every ski trail at Winter Park/Mary Jane...and then little details like tucking away the electric cords out of sight, that did not go unnoticed. So, for the price, the Viking Lodge is hidden gem in glamorous Winter Park!

Very convenient location. Clean. I love the decor and feel of the place. It's just as advertised, a bare-bones location to base mountain activities out of.
