This is the first time I have ever stayed here and I’m sad I never stayed before. Beautiful peaceful house with the sweetest hosts. Iron ever back Joslyn will stay again!
The lost gem is a perfect location and more than we expected. It was very cute and cozy. It had everything needed and then some. I was able to cook my college son and his roommate a home cooked meal and had every kitchen utensil, pots, pans, measuring cups, etc… this is definitely I place I would come back to if I ever needed a place to stay in oskaloosa! The hosts were so sweet and welcoming and even went out of their way to come support the local football team and that was a very cool experience getting to meet them! The delicious homemade chocolate chip cookies were an added bonus but they sure did hit the spot! I would definitely recommend the lost gem to anyone headed to oskaloosa!
Beautiful little countryside home for the perfect getaway! The house is located next to a quiet gravel road which made for beautiful sunset walks to watch the fireflies. A/C worked wonderfully and the kitchen/bathroom was well stocked. Thank you Dan and Di!
This is my 4th airbnb I've used in the past 7 months. I especially enjoyed sitting outside at the end of a long day, taking in the beauty of Iowa.
What a great place to stay. Enough room for our family. Everything we needed was on hand. The grill was a bonus. Beautiful night to grill steaks. We dont have small children, but they thought of the little ones from the car seat, to the pack n play, to board games. Kitchen was stocked with every kitchen item we needed. Beautiful surroundings! What we needed just for us. Yes, A Lost Gem💎 . Glad we found it. Close to town but far enough out to enjoy the tranquility of Iowa loving.

We are both "country" born and raised within 15 miles of The Lost Gem, attending school at Eddyville Blakesburg Fremont graduating in '74 and '75. Dan works as a Construction Supervisor at Cargill. Di is an Independent Sales Professional for Cutco Cutlery and housewife. We were foster parents for 20 years to over 98 children and are currently volunteers for the American Red Cross. We have been married 46 years and have two children and four grandchildren. When Dan is not busy with our family lawncare business he enjoys working in his shop, breathing life into old cars. Diane enjoys spending time with the grandkids and flower gardening. Together we enjoy driving our home built street rods. Dan drives a Pro Street '49 Anglia, and Di chases Dan around in a '34 Ford Tudor Sedan. Great Fun!
