Gorgeous location, can't beat the natural surroundings. We experienced all the Costa Rican monkey species, scarlet macaws, parrots, and countless other birds right from our house. The driveway to the house was rougher than we expected. A 2 wheel drive technically works, but 4x4 is ideal. I was glad we arrived in the daylight; it would be hard to find the house and do the drive up for the first time in the dark. We expected insects, being in a more secluded area, but also expected netting would close up the bedrooms well - there was not a way to attach the netting to the walls, so there were gaps. Would not recommend for children younger than 8, because the stairs are open and not safe for that young. We had a 5yo with us and we needed to help her up and down every time. But overall, we enjoyed the house. We chose this house for it's proximity to animals and we were not disappointed! Waking up to the monkeys and birds is a special experience.

This home and property is amazing! Michael is a gracious host, quick-witted, and brings interesting conversation during his short visits. The Osa Peninsula is an absolute dream vacation destination! Few tourists, welcoming locals, great food, and nature galore. We had a large troop of Squirrel Monkeys come through the trees over us as we were swimming in the pool. We heard parrots and howler monkeys every morning. A 4x4 is highly recommended so you can go to some of the even more off the beaten path locations. We absolutely loved visiting Playa Preciosa and Playa Pan Dulce. We met a man named Oscar who took us fishing and served us amazing food at the Cahui Beach Resort. Definitely check that place out for lunch and a day on the beach under umbrellas. There are plenty of grocery options nearby. We visited the end of February and didn't have any issue with biting bugs and the weather was comfortable to sleep. Thank you Michale! We will definitely be back!!!

Michael's place was beautiful and a really enjoyable place to stay. Unfortunately, Michael double-booked it while we were staying there so we had to leave early. He reimbursed us for leaving early, but this substantially disrupted our trip as we had to cancel existing plans and spend a day making new arrangements. Apparently the double-booking was due to having two AirBNB listings for the same property. I hope Michael gets this resolved so that other guests don't experience the same problem.

Everything about our stay at Mike's and in the Osa Peninsula was fantastic! The house is one-of-a-kind. It felt magical and surreal to be living in this open-air home in the jungle. We all were in paradise! We woke up to beautiful vistas. We saw and heard monkeys and tropical birds daily. We did the meal plan, and the food was excellent. It was unbelievable! Just like the home, Mike is incredible and truly one-of-a-kind! He was very welcoming, very responsive, and truly a delight to talk to and learn about. Osa is truly a remarkable place. We went to the national park and saw all sorts of wild life; we surfed, we night-kayaked and saw bioluminescence; we relaxed on beautiful beaches; we explored hikes and waterfalls; it was a once in a life time experience. Everything was perfect, and we were all very grateful to be in Osa and at Mike's home.
