圣路易斯 · 整套民居 · 2室2床1.0卫 · 可住5人 · Cozy Cabin in the City
Stay in a cozy cabin in the heart of the Cherokee Street arts district, centrally located in South Saint Louis! Need to be in the city but still wish for lots of green space, historic finishes, meals al fresco, and relaxing by the fireplace in the evening? We've got you covered. This home was built in 1890 so it's packed with historic charm including the original wood floors, tiled bathroom with a clawfoot tub, and lots of little details that will make your stay comfortable and stylish Enter through your private sun porch overlooking a charming front garden to find a lovely dining room with a gas fireplace and historic bar complete with all the tools to mix up a cocktail! The living room has a comfy couch, 50" tv + Amazon Firestick, and even a record player so you can enjoy the new vinyl you're sure to find at the nearby record shops. Past the living room, you'll enter our bright vintage kitchen with everything you need to cook a gourmet meal (or just heat up some amazing leftovers from a nearby restaurant). The back door off of the kitchen walks out onto a large deck with antique dining furniture for meals al fresco. Use the Weber grill to cook up some pork steaks, a St Louis favorite. Upstairs you've got the master bedroom with 40" Amazon fire TV, lots of natural light and a vintage queen bedroom set + all of the modern amenities. The bright, open center room upstairs can be used as a communal space, yoga room, or spot for the kids to play. There is also a desk for catching up on work that overlooks the backyard. The bathroom was completely redone in 2022 with historic finishes, fresh white tile and a lovely clawfoot tub. The back bedroom also has a queen bed and 40" Amazon Firestick TV. And a private back yard? Yep! Spring and summer boast a parade of color with our large garden areas. Fresh herbs, flowers and even veggies are yours to enjoy in the Summer months. We're currently updating our chicken coop but expect feathered friends (and fresh eggs!) to return later in 2023. Set on a double lot, our backyard is surrounded by an 8' privacy fence to ensure your comfort and security. A fire pit and chairs are also provided. The Cherokee Arts district has been my home for 12 years and it's packed with cool spots to see a show, check out an art opening, enjoy a variety of food and drink and explore an historic St Louis neighborhood. It's a diverse and expanding neighborhood with lots of rich culture. Nearby Benton Park offers upscale drinks and dining, and adjacent Soulard, locally known as "The Island" has a flavor all it's own. Visit the Budweiser Brewery, see a game at Busch Stadium, hop on the freeway for a short drive to the St Louis Art Museum and Forest Park. You're close to everything!
Unfortunately, the listing said it had privacy w/8 ft fencing in the backyard photo, but that’s just privacy from the alley it’s next to. There were 4-story buildings on all sides of the house, so there is zero privacy. Both my husband and son were bitten several times by bugs after sitting with one of the blankets on the couch and one on the bed. We also noticed cat hair on the guest bedroom comforter which is a problem for cat allergies. Also, just not clean. The headboard in the primary room was very dirty and the comforters are made for a smaller bed as they didn’t even cover us when we were sleeping in the beds. Please invest in better, larger blankets! There are random chunks of wood in the bathroom we kicked at night covering the plumbing & a lightbulb missing as well as a zip tie to hold the shower head up. The bathtub was like sitting on and up against gravel, it needs resurfaced badly. The floor kept snagging our socks, so kids had to be careful for splinters. Bummed!
This is my first time renting an Airbnb and Kristin set the bar HIGH!! this was the perfect place for my friends and I to stay! we had the BEST fajitas at a place around the corner and Kristin recommended a pizza place that I will literally never forget. if you have the privilege to stay here, absolutely do!! you'll have the best trip ever !!
The Cherokee Arts district is a lively, diverse, and quirky area with plenty of dining, unique shopping, galleries, the "Antique Row" area, and nightlife. There are TONS of great spots to score some vintage clothing, grab some new vinyl records, have a cold beer or a nice glass of wine, see an art opening, grab some Mexican street tacos, check out a sidewalk market or, hey, do all of the above!
You're minutes from the Budweiser Brewery, Busch Stadium, the Gateway Arch National Park and everything St Louis has to offer.
The area is super walkable by day but we recommend Uber/Lyft if you plan on traveling late at night.
Street parking (parallel) is available on California Ave and the surrounding streets. While often there will be a spot right out front, the neighborhood is quite busy on the weekends. However, you will usually easily find a space within a couple of houses at the most.
Although our home offers a little slice of country living, please remember that you are in a big city and exercise a appropriate amount of caution, especially if choosing to travel on foot after dark. We recommend not leaving items of value in your car overnight as an added precaution.
Uber, Lyft and other rideshare services are a safe and dependable way to get around St Louis. We do not recommend using cab services as the wait times are often over 1hr+ and the service is typically below average.
