Wow. What a beautiful experience in karmidanda! This is exactly what I was looking for. A home stay with a very friendly and welcoming Nepali family, surrounded by beautiful nature. They invited me to stay for the local Tihar festival which was wonderful. The whole family are very kind , open and loving people. They took me on hikes and cooked delicious Nepali food. I highly recommend for anyone seeking a more local Nepali experience in a beautiful area of Nepal. The bus was also very easy to take and Jabhraj welcomed me at the bus stop. I only hooked a few nights but stayed much longer! I look forward to returning to this home stay during my next time in Nepal!

It's very nice place with picturesque views! You will get village living experience and eat organic homemade food and beverages. If weather fine and clear you can see high mountains from the rock nearby. Host family is very nice and do the best to make you feel good during your stay.

The stay of a lifetime! It’s a perfect place to escape the hustle and bustle of the city and experience Nepali village life. This is a great place to come if you’re wanting solitude and alone time, but even better if you’re wanting to meet local people and feel part of a Nepali family. I had multiple very clean and comfortable bedrooms, a living room, a private bathroom (with hot shower), good WiFi, and plenty of space for charging my devices. I didn’t even get that in Kathmandu! I learned so much from Jhabraj - he taught me the history and culture of the area. He’s not only a teacher (I visited the school with him - very cool), but also a leader and healer in the community. One of my favorite experiences was watching him recite mantras for some of the sick villagers that came to be him for help. And his wife Januka is funny and kind and makes THE BEST dal bhat. The neighbors are welcoming and many speak English. I can’t recommend this place enough!

I stayed with Jhabaraj and Zanuka for two weeks in april, and I could easily have stayed longer, they told me about people who had come for a few days in the past and ended up staying months, and its easy to see how. The time drifts by, so peaceful staying in the village, reading, beautiful scenery / hiking, friendly people. It was awesome to learn about the farm and how to milk the cow, make yogurt, butter, cheese, about some of the different plants and their uses. Was also really interesting to see how the communty support each other, how the garden is somehow shared between the neighbours and people come together to support when someone is sick. I arrived by bus from Kathmandu, no problems, you take the bus at 11:30am from Macchu pokhari - there is a ticket counter on the corner, to go direct to Karmidada for 430 rupees. The room is nice, bathroom next door with efficient solar hot water system. Food is mostly prepared from home grown crops, and very tasty :-) Highly recommended!

Jhabraj was one of the kindest and most welcoming hosts I've ever had -- you will feel like family and the homecooked meals are amazing! The views are stunning, the sunsets are beautiful, and you could explore the many paths around the mountains for weeks. If you are looking to experience self-sustaining village life in Nepal featuring some of the most amazing mountain views you've ever seen, I cannot recommend Jhabraj and his home enough!
