Our overnight stay at Dominic’s guest house was short but enjoyable. Though we didn’t have an opportunity (due to the time of year) to utilize the outdoor pool area, we could only wish we had.

I’ll start with the not so good things. This guesthouse needs a couple improvements. When we first walked up it was dark and couldn’t see very well making it kind of hard to find the guest home. Walked in and automatically reeked of cigarettes and the smell of those never went away. Smelled heavily in the bathroom. Found a pubic hair in the bed after changing the sheets… they need to change the curtains. Didn’t feel like we had much privacy with the sheer curtains. The sofa pull out bed was broken and put back together by duct tape. Dog bowls and mat was not cleaned but made sure to clean for next guests. Wi-Fi kept dropping and couldn’t ever get a good stable connection so I used my mobile hotspot. Good things: the king sized bed was COMFY and there was plenty of room for my kids and dog. Shower was nice and hot and there were nice towels. There wasn’t a stove but there was a hot plate and griddle so I was able to cook if needed.

Dominic and his wife were great hosts. The Pool House was perfect for me. I moved to the area recently and needed a place to stay and work (remotely) while I searched for a home. I spent 2 months in the pool house. I had multiple Zoom and Team Meetings every day and uploaded/downloaded large amounts of data with absolutely no drag time. I only wish I'd stayed in the summer so I could have worked out by the pool! There's a lovely, paved walking path behind the pool that I used daily. It is tree lined and very peaceful, restorative after staring at a computer screen for hours. The kitchen was well stocked with dishes/glassware/flatware, etc. And the pots/pans were adequate. Access to interstates was close by. And getting to Joplin (the town part) was quick. There are many restaurants as well as fast food spots. Anyway, I have no negatives. I really enjoyed it (So did my sissy cat!). :)
