Was quite upsetting that the main reason we booked this hotel was because of the bar and fireplace in the lobby. We booked over a Friday and Saturday night for this. We were told while checking in on Friday that it wouldn’t be open that day, but would on Saturday. While sad about that we were still happy to enjoy it for 1 day. The bar was not open Saturday either, and n’or was the fireplace lit. So basically we did not get to enjoy the hotel for the reason we booked, and the room was not great to make up for any of that. Really disappointing. If the hotel had communicated ahead of time then maybe we could have pre planned somewhere else cosy to go

We would highly recommend a stay here the staff are professional but friendly and very accomodating our room was clean and tidy (the complementary breaky is awesome!!) not only is it value for money but the hotels bygone era decor and atmosphere is absolutely wonderful enjoy a nightcap in the great room by the fire or a game of chess take a drink in the Speak easy!! Yes you read that right! Such a lovely quirky hotel. Thank you

Upon arrival, we have been greeted with a warmth and friendly host. The room stayed was simply modern and clean. The hotel has very rustic 20s feel with antique furniture. Good location.
