A nice condo with a good location within Hawaii Kai (about 20-25 minutes from Waikiki). Pros: 9th floor corner room with a nice view. Secure, reserved parking space, next to a pillar but usually we didn’t have issues with an SUV. Elevators are usually quick. Full size refrigerator, microwave, dishwasher and oven. Lots of towels (bath, hand and beach) available. 3 split AC units easily kept the space cool. Hardly heard noise from other units through the walls or floor. Water and ice from refrigerator tasted fine (by Hawaii standards). Cons: Main room light in both bedrooms constantly flickered when we first checked in and took over a week to address (meanwhile we didn’t really have much light in the rooms at night). Washing machine leaked every time we used it. Only had 1 trash bag and 1 roll of toilet paper included with the unit. (Trash bags are required to use the trash chute.) Host was sometimes unresponsive and required follow up messages in Airbnb app (including for check out instructions). Unless you already wear shoes inside the house, bring room slippers. Would recommend: adding a coffee table in front of the couch. We (2 people) were teleworking and found it pretty difficult without an additional flat surface, but WiFi speed/connectivity was quite good. Also to note: gym and pool are available but due to Covid, must reserve in advance and constantly busy. We never got a chance. Some items in the apartment had quite some feeling of use (rusty, old, cracked, stained, etc) which is a contrast from how new the unit feels otherwise. May want to bring your own cups. Overall, we had a nice stay but had to buy or borrow a number of things from nearby family members to make the space livable for ourselves for the month.
