The place was great and exactly as described. We were able to walk to several restaurants and coffee shops. The house was spotless, the beds were incredibly comfortable, and we had everything that we needed for an awesome weekend. Jennifer went above and beyond as a host. I had a late flight and didn't arrive at the rental until nearly midnight. She made sure that lights were on and provided additional details that helped me feel good about arriving to a new city late at night. She also provided some great recommendations that made our stay even more memorable. I would definitely recommend staying at this rental. It was everything we needed for an awesome weekend!

We stayed at Jennifer's house for 5 days (a family of 4), I'd highly recommend it. Beyond being clean, beautiful and close drive to downtown - we like and appreciate the extra small things and the attention to detail. Both in the design which is awesome, and the available amenities (like code-based door lock, coffee machine with capsules, board games, Roku, a very easy to operate AC system, a handbook with recommendations and instructions). Jennifer was also very responsive and nice. Overall - we've had a 5-star experience. Thank you! :)

The desirable Chestnut neighborhood in hip East Austin is perfectly situated between the delicious restaurant row at Manor Rd and the E. 7th St bar district. There is a walking/running/biking trail a few blocks east that runs through Boggy Creek Greenbelt and connects with the Ladybird Lake trail two miles south. This trail also takes you to the train that goes downtown or north as far as Pflugerville. If you'd rather explore close by, there are several fun dive bars just a couple blocks away on 12th St. Check out the French bakery and dairy-free cafe one block away on Chicon St. Bennu Coffee is a favorite cozy cafe, and if you care to drive, downtown Austin is a mere 5 minutes away.
You can walk to all the best parts of East Austin within 20 minutes. The Boggy Creek Greenbelt walking trail is a few blocks east, and if you walk a mile farther you will connect with the Ladybird Lake trail, a 10 mile loop that goes around the river/lake. There is a train station 0.8 miles east that will take you downtown. Traffic from the east side into downtown is not bad because you can avoid the north/south highways that are usually backed up. UT campus is a 5 minute drive away, and the center of downtown is 10 minutes away on average. Lyft/Uber/scooters are always around.
