We had 2 unforgettable weeks in paradise, thanks to the warmth and hospitality of Musad and his family. Kolamaafushi is a small quiet island with a few hundred inhabitants -- no cars, just bikes and scooters. Within days, you settle into the rhythms of simple island life. The north-end beach was our hub for activities, with a canoe and paddleboat provided. The house reef just ~100m offshore (white buoy) is teeming with life - black and white tip reef sharks, guitar sharks, stingrays, eagle rays, puffer fish, sea turtles, and more. Ahusan, your wonderfully friendly local guide, will point you to the underwater sights or take you on excursions to nearby islands. One of the most diverse and healthy coral reefs I've ever seen was on our trip to Hurendhoo, a nearby uninhabited island. This is not just an accommodation, it's a unique, authentic Maldivian experience. It was entirely worth the effort to get there... We made memories that will last a lifetime. The private island was beautiful, we loved being able to take kayaks out and explore the sea. We saw turtles and baby shakes from the kayaks and visited small sandbanks. The island was perfect to relax on (take good sunblock!). Kolamaafushi was beautiful and we found everyone to be very friendly, we were lucky enough to arrive on the day the Maldives Yacht Rally arrived so we had a lovely welcome meal and got to meet the locals. The guest house accomodation wasn’t the cleanest, I think the aircon unit could do with cleaning as my fiancé’s asthma was triggered quite a bit and the kitchen/ fridge wasn’t that clean either. The bed however was super comfy and shower nice and powerful. Musad was accommodating and friendly and helped us organise speedboats between islands as we explored.

Before our trip even began Musad was there guiding us every step of the way. Our trip was a step above as we were greeted by his colleagues at major points in our travel. From our transfer from the island to the speedboat. Hospitality every step of the way. We grabbed some stuff from Villingilli and our journey began. The coconut was a welcome gift and very refreshing after the journey. Our privacy was respected and when we visited picnic island. Words can’t describe what this place means to us. If you want to see the real Maldives like a local,definitely recommend Musad place. Everyone in the island knew us after the third day. There used to be absolutely nothing missing from Musad’s place. We would definitely come back again. If you need anything let Musad know in advance he will arrange a most memorable time. Thank you 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽

ich war 10 Tage in der Unterkunft von Musad. Der Strand und der Hafen sind gut erreichbar. die Anreise war perfekt organisiert und Musad war jederzeit ansprechbar. Das Haus ist mit allem ausgestattet, was man benötigt. Die Einheimischen sind sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Musad private Insel ist traumhaft. Gegenüber des Hauses ist ein Jugendzentrum, alle paar Tage ist dort laute Musik bis Mitternacht. Ich würde Kolamaafushi einer Resortinsel vorziehen.

It‘s the perfect location for a paradise vacation! I could only recommend to spent the time on Maledives in Musad‘s house! It‘s so calm and peaceful, you have room to relax and be for your own or you could meet all the very friendly and nice local people on Kolamaafushi! We felt being with friends fast and learned so many things about island life. Don‘t ever go to resort!😌🙏🏻😉
