We love our beautiful jungle retreat and hope you will too. Among the highlights - a 10-meter lap-pool and patio, Balinese-inspired outside bathroom with tub, fully equipped gym, a front-row seat on a vibrant jungle canopy, fast fiber-optic Internet, and only 5-10 minutes to shopping, beaches and waterfalls. The house has 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and an office / gym space. The master bedroom has a queen bed, while the other bedrooms have a double and a single. A large inflatable bed is available for extra sleeping capacity. The house sits on a 1.25 acre, newly landscaped plot right next to pristine, jungle. The huge veranda gives you the feeling of being on a platform among the trees - your own private nature reserve. Every day you'll see some of Costa Rica's rich wildlife passing through. We see toucans, parrots, howler monkeys, capuchin monkeys, blue morpho butterflies and hummingbirds on a daily basis. The jungle creates a cool micro-climate, which combined with a steady breeze and the house's good ventilation makes it comfortable without air-conditioning - though the master bedroom does have AC. The outdoor bathroom is a very special feature - there are few better feelings than relaxing in the tub at dusk or early morning while listening to the jungle's song and the waves crashing on the beaches below. There's a fully equipped gym space with a Peloton bike, weights, punching bag, and a ping pong table. The house is in a gated, guarded community, making it very secure. Please note that access to the house is an unpaved road with several steep sections, which is quite common in Costa Rica. We always recommend a 4x4 vehicle, though this may be less necessary during the dry season from January to April and for those with more driving confidence/experience.

The house is beautiful and comfortable. I love the view to the jungle. Beds were comfortable and house was neat. At first we had a hard time getting up the hill even though we have a 4x4 it was still a little slippery. Sadly we were a little dissatisfied with the fact that the tub in the master bedroom did not work. I was excited to use the tub and it would not hold water in. And others problems with WiFi, etc. I did receive a small refund because of it. But overall we had a great time. Always trying to make the best out of any situation. Thank you!
Waow ! Rien à dire de négatif ! J’ai même versé quelques larmes le matin où nous devions quitter la maison. ..J’ai adoré vivre dans la jungle avec le son des animaux, la piscine, la beauté du paysage, la sécurité de l’emplacement. Le gardien Jorge super chaleureux et attachant :) Merci de m’avoir fait vivre cela !!!
This place was amazing, we had a great time at Stuart’s place, the access is kinda tricky, and it is recommended a 4X4 car specially at night when it rains, but other than that was great. We had lucky enough to see some Toucans, Hummingbirds, White faced monkeys, Resplendent Quetzals some frogs and also every morning at 4:00 am we would hear a grumpy Mono Congo (Howler Monkey) super close to the property. We enjoyed the pool a lot the water is always clean and fresh. The little town close by had very good food, fruits and bread. Overall it was worth the 4 hours drive from San Jose to Uvita to stay at this place in the middle of the jungle. PD. We loved Jorge, we had great conversations with him and he was very happy to have Spanish speakers for a few days. Say hi to him, from the Spanish speakers guests.
This jungle house was beautiful, private, and truly in the jungle! We could hear howler monkeys from the backyard and saw tons of birds. The pool and outdoor patio was one of our favorite things and we loved relaxing out there! Stuart gave us great instructions for the home and recommendations for Uvita. We were a quick 10 min drive to the beach, surf shops, and tons of restaurants. The only thing is we lost power, electricity and water for both nights we were staying there. It made the house very hot with no fans and it was uncomfortable to not have power or water for half of our stay. While Stuart told us after booking that power outages are common in this area, it wasn’t added in the Airbnb listing from the beginning and that would’ve been helpful to know. We also were staying during the “dry” season so we wouldn’t have expected for the power lines to snap due to a storm. Still a great place to stay but recommend having the proper expectation.
La casa es bonita pero el gran problema que tiene es que sólo la habitación principal tiene aire acondicionado y hace mucho mucho tiempo calor, por lo tanto a los que sufren de calor es poco placentero estar en el lugar, creo que mínimo las dos habitaciones que faltan deberían tenerlo, el otro inconveniente es el baño compartido entre las dos habitaciones, tiene dos puertas que van a las dos habitaciones por lo que suele ser incómodo y no es privado. La ducha de la habitación principal es al aire libre por lo que no es privado. Por lo demás todo bien. Se ven monos y pajaritos... La piscina está bonita.

The house is tucked away in a small gated community just above the tranquil beach town of Uviita, famous for its Whale-tail shaped beach and nearby surfing spots. Excellent restaurants and supermarkets are a few minutes drive away. The house gives you total privacy and quiet yet is only 5-10 minutes from Uvita town center and the beaches of the Marino Ballena National Park. Uvita is a great base for trips to Nauyaca waterfalls, Corcovado national park, Caño Island, Sierpe River, and Manuel Antonio national park.
Plenty of parking space at the house. Best to have a four-wheel drive car as the access road is steep and not paved. This is less necessary during the dry season from December to July.
