This is a lovely cottage, well described, beautifully presented and spotlessly clean. Marjorie is an excellent host, very responsive and very helpful. The whole place is both welcoming and comfortable. The only possible issue if you are noise sensitive is the proximity to the mainline railway. We were woken a couple of times in the night but, for the most part, the trains were a source of interest and amusement rather than annoyance. I would stay again.

Very well presented, warm and comfortable cottage. Well chosen, quality, furniture, decoration & accent pieces throughout. Plenty of storage space. Well placed for Holy Island, of course, but also for visits to most of the Northumberland coastal and inland attractions, including Bamburgh, Seahouses (& the Farne Island Puffins), Alnwick and Berwick.

Communication with Marjorie was both easy and straight forward and her instructions to find and get into the house were clear. On meeting, her and her husband were warm friendly and engaging with wonderful suggestions of where to visit. The house was beautiful, clean, very well appointed and the location was perfect for a quick walk to the local pub or a short drive to unbelievable longer coastal walks. We loved it and are thinking of returning when Alnwick is in bloom and Cragside is open. Thank you.

We thoroughly enjoyed staying at Marjorie's place, it was nicely appointed, decorated in keeping with the style of the cottage. Lots of lovely hot water, the little washing machine was a great extra, especially after lots of walks....we were out every day and the beaches and scenery were just knock out...the cottage is located just perfectly to explore Northumberland's stunning coast, and is only 30 mins drive from the Scottish borders where we discovered the breath taking cliff top walk from Coldingham Bay. The cottage was lovely and warm (amazing to come back to after windswept walks!), it has a cosy sitting room with very comfy settee and arm chairs. Bed was nice amd comfortable too. Location was fantastic and Marjorie's recommendations of local, less well known beaches and eateries were amazing! We liked the trains going past the cottage is all double glazed so noise for us wasn't an issue. Really recomend, thank you Marjorie!!

Great location for Lindisfarne / Holy Island and for exploring Northumberland coast / castles. Easy to find. Super clean and comfortable with all you need in the cottage. Lovely host, very friendly and helpful. Highly recommended. Thanks Marjorie!
