Had a wonderful week loves the house and location even being next to train wasn’t so bad

A great house on the water, close to the lake. We enjoyed fishing from the dock and sitting outside and enjoying the heron, deer, and turkeys we saw. Clean house and linens provided was a nice touch! The kitchen was well appointed with everything we needed for cooking.

John and Renata were good hosts. They were communicative and responded to questions quickly. The house was well apportioned and there was easily enough space for our Thanksgiving activities with friends. While we had a great time, there were a few things to note. One was that the house is situated near train tracks. The stone bridge in the pictures is actually a railroad bridge crossing the lake, and while the trains were not overtly disturbing while you were inside, using the firepit was a little off-putting with them going by. Additionally, the next door neighbor was very close (The houses were roughly 20-30 feet apart) and somewhat of an eyesore with a lot of plastic containers and derelict cars in their yard. Since lane leading to the house is more of a shared driveway than a lane, a truck ended up coming into the area and waking us up on Sunday morning before checkout for some unknown purpose for the neighbor. However, all-in-all these were very minor concerns, and the time at the house was splendid. The house was well furnished and well-proportioned for the amount of people that stayed. We were surprised to find that the kitchen had a lot of amenities that we didn't need to transport or buy extra items while making Thanksgiving dinner, and everything was clean and ready to use when we arrived. The beds were comfortable and John & Renata made it easy for us to check out when the time came. Altogether, it was a positive experience and we would most certainly consider staying again.

I really enjoyed staying in a private home - it feels so much more comfortable than in any hotel or motel. Liked the kitchen, living room with view, and laundry. Kitchen window looks out over the lake. Also the kitchen is open to the DR/LR so whoever is in the kitchen is not isolated - open floor-plan is great. Quiet bedrooms. Everything in the home is clean and working order. The location is so beautiful. Great view of the lake from the living room. Such a great place for family. I visited for a few days in mid October and was very lucky with weather - I was able to spend a sunny Sunday morning kayaking on the lake!
