OMG…..What a beautiful place! We enjoyed the cottage and the surroundings overall. It was so peaceful. We enjoyed listening to the birds and the water hitting the shoreline. Can’t wait to return. We met Jeff and absolutely enjoyed talking to him. We didn’t get to meet Lori, but hoping next time that we will. The dogs, especially Lucy, stole my wife’s heart. BTW Jeff, I think I have gotten Tina to agree with me having a chicken coop at home 🙂. I may be calling on you for pointers. Jeff, thank you for the eggs. They were delicious with my bacon & toast. Thanks again, Lori and Jeff for allowing us to stay at the cottage. See you soon if you will have us back.

We are becoming regulars here. This is our favorite area to visit in eastern NC. It’s remote, peaceful, and lots to do on the water. Lori and Jeff are the best! See you all again soon!

Other reviews have mentioned how peaceful this place is. If you are looking for quiet and peace without a busy agenda, this is the place to get away. There are options for exploring-small towns with lots of history-but the secret to this place is feeling as though you have gotten away. From the deck at the guesthouse you can watch gorgeous sunrises, stars at night, and the ever changing river scenery. The guesthouse is equipped with everything you need, just bring groceries and relax! Lori and Jeff could not have been more welcoming and available for any questions but also give you space to enjoy the guesthouse on your own.
