What an incredible haven! Osea Island is pure bliss. The minute you pass through the barrier and commence your journey onto the island it is simply breath-taking! The island takes you back to how you imagine the UK to be hundreds of years ago. It is so incredible relaxing and heavenly. The apartment was beautiful - very shabby chic with some stunning art and books to digest. There has been a lot of hard work put into creating a very unique experience - thank you Nigel and the Crew for creating something which is so world class and the epitome of old UK! . Every where is spotless, the staff are so helpful and charming and quite frankly we didn't want to leave - I could have lived there forever! It is a shame life isn't like this anymore - so we will be back for sure! Thank you again from the bottom of my heart!

We had a fantastic week at the Observatory. Osea is a beautiful place and we were lucky enough to have terrific weather for swimming and hanging out at the beach. We were two families of 4, and the place is just about big enough with 4 bedrooms. However, the kitchen is snug and it was cramped to eat with all 8 of us at the table. You have to stay on top of the washing up too... The great things about the island include the amazing location and exclusivity, the hidden spots for playing and relaxing, the surprisingly well-maintained bikes, and just the general vibe. The pool is fab, the kids loved the hidden adventure playground in the woods and we had some terrific evenings pretending we had our own saloon bar at the Shack and drinking wine in front of the many fire pits. We did the Glamping catering package at weekends, which wasn’t cheap but was worth every penny. Food was delicious and the staff were brilliant. The Bomb Factory was a super place to eat and drink. The Observatory is one of the only places without a garden, but it does have a lovely balcony. We did hear our neighbours most nights but they were very considerate. This is a great place if you’re sociable - we met loads of nice people just hanging out at the pool, and around on bikes. It feels a bit like a shared house - a little frayed in places, but you can feel that it’s full of stories and magic. Go if - you’ve got a sense of adventure, a great imagination and a love of community. Don’t go if - you need your own space, or you expect everything to be pristine.

We had never heard of Osea island before this trip but we will never forget it. Such a beautiful island and a perfect getaway for a weekend with friends or family. We are already planning to come back again! Would highly recommended. One thing to remember though is you need to plan getting on and off the island with the tides so would recommend leaving at least one car on the mainland if you plan on going back and forth and doing stuff on the mainland as well as Osea island. Also planning your water taxis ahead of time.

We had an amazing time at Osea. From the moment you cross the causeway you know you’re somewhere special. The island is a beautiful half tamed wilderness peppered with quaint wood covered cottages. There’s a total sense of freedom - there are staff who will help instantly if you call but who leave you entirely to your own devices if you don’t. It’s safe enough to let your children roam free - ours went off with packed lunches to explore the lanes and pebble beaches and feed the two donkeys. Wildlife is a feature - we saw owls and pheasant- the night sky is amazingly clear and we slept soundly thanks to the lack of light and noise pollution.
