Hi, I'm Tracy host of Chracaig situated on the beautiful Isle of Skye . The island is a second home to me as my father is from the village of Edinbane. Chracaig has been in our family for the last 20 years so it is a very special place to us. I partly grew up here and my children are now doing the same. Having spent much time all over the Island, I feel Chracaig sits in a special spot, being close to Portree but retaining it's rural feel through the gardens, views and country road it is situated on. I love to travel myself and do so as often as I can. I travelled throughout India and SE Asia before air bnb was invented. I also lived in Australia for a short while. I have visited most countries in Europe and hope to visit those I have not someday. I also love touring around Britain and of course Scotland. It is a beautiful country with distinct weather and seasons. This can be a good thing! I am intrigued by different countries and cultures but have always found there to be many similarities between us all. Chracaig depicts my life, as a home does. It is contemporary in style whilst reflecting elements of the countries and cultures I have been influenced by. Originally from Edinburgh, I now live in the village of North Queensferry. Another two special places to visit. NQueensferry is situated at the foot of the historical Forth rail bridge by the spectacular new Queensferry crossing, just across the water from Edinburgh on the Fife coast. The Fife coast is a great place to live, a semi-rural setting by the sea only 20 minutes from Edinburgh city centre. The best of both worlds! Similar to Chracaig, in it’s rural setting with Portree on your doorstep. I can see the benefit of both city and rural living so having both within reach is a great option. When I need to retreat further, to relax and recoup, I go to Chracaig to again experience the best of both worlds, in a quieter and more peaceful form.
