We went to Cortez for our friends wedding, our suite was only a km from the location of the festivities. It was very quiet and peaceful. It had everything we needed.

A lovely little place! Close to Smelt Bay and it felt vert serene. I was only here two nights to photograph an elopement but it worked perfectly! I was able to cook some basic meals with the hot plate other kitchen items. Very clean and a comfortable bed. The shower was a bit small but it worked fine. If you’re needing a simple place to stay while exploring the island, this is perfect!

Cathy was a lovely host! Checked in on us to make sure we were finding everything alright. The place was immaculately clean and cozy and just a short walk to the most gorgeous beach. This was the perfect home base for our weekend of exploring stunning and rugged Cortes.

Cathy & Ian were lovely, welcoming hosts. They were very generous with their time discussing horses and oysters, and making recommendations regarding the local area. My partner is a horse lover, and Cathy was kind enough to bring her down to say hello to 'Sky' and 'Moon' come feeding time. We felt very comfortable with them and it would have been great to stay longer at the Nest. The accommodations were exactly what we had hoped. Just the right amount of cozy while still feeling spacious enough for two people. The bedroom was very comfortable and felt perfectly private. Cathy and Ian have a nice garden to look out on, and I am sure it will only get nicer into Spring and Summer. We were very happy with the kitchen amenities. Smelt Bay is very close and provides a nice walking trail down to the beach with great views of Van Isle and Quadra. Mansons Landing is a few minutes drive and we enjoyed time down picnicking down at the lagoon. It is a lovely corner of the island.
