弗里波特(Freeport) · 整套loft · 1室1床1.0卫 · 可住2人 · Cozy & Private Studio Apartment (Pet Friendly!)
Recently renovated studio apartment, very cozy, with a private side yard and entrance, kitchenette and TV (Roku with Netflix, Disney Plus, Hulu and Amazon). Very comfortable queen size bed with floor space for kids if desired. Fantastically located just over a mile from beautiful Winslow Park's walking trails and beach, four miles south of downtown Freeport's shopping and 15 miles north of the popular city of Portland. Housebroken and well behaved pets welcome to join their humans! The studio apartment, originally built in 1979 and renovated in 2019, is in a separate building from the main part of our house. It has private parking and an entrance with a numerical key code so you're comfortably able to come and go on your own schedule. The private entrance does include an outside flight of stairs and has no handicap accessibility. The apartment has a fully equipped kitchenette with all the dining utensils and dishes you should need as well as critical cooking devices—microwave, convection oven, Keurig coffee maker, electric burners (not pictured as they’re in the cabinet). We provide salt, pepper, olive oil, coffee, tea, sugar/sweetener, half & half, and cooking essentials for humans and dog bowls for critter guests. We also have a child’s pac & play we can loan you if needed during your stay—just please let us know in advance so we can leave it out for you. The apartment is decorated with a rustic coastal style and includes some antique furniture. Visit the picturesque South Freeport town harbor about two miles away or the beautiful beach at Winslow Park about a mile down the road from our property. There are also many local walking/hiking trails and water views at Winslow Park or Wolfe’s Neck Park (about 8 miles north) as well as several local town trail systems as described in our welcome book in the apartment. Lots of shopping (including LL Bean and all its campus has to offer!), eating and drinking (five local breweries in town!) about four miles north in downtown Freeport. Other great restaurant options about three miles south in Yarmouth, and of course, in Portland, about 15 miles south. Check out our AirBnB guide book for more suggestions about local things to do. We welcome well behaved and house trained furry guests to join their humans. While we don’t require pets be crated while you’re away, we do have a medium/large dog crate (36”x24”x24”) available for your use if it would help make you or your pet(s) more comfortable or keep your furry loved one out of trouble. Please let us know in advance if you’d like to borrow the crate. There is also a $30 pet fee—please indicate you are bringing a pet when you book your reservation.
We loved staying at the loft! Our dogs enjoyed the yard, and it was really peaceful. Would definitely stay again!
Avanelle was a terrific host! She made me feel right at home with warmth and kindness, all the while giving me privacy to get work done! 5/5 would definitely recommend to others.
Nelle and Jay were wonderful, welcoming hosts. Nelle wrote to us before we arrived with a greeting and flawless check-in instructions. They welcomed our huge, long-haired dog, and anticipated our needs as fellow dog owners (biscuits, etc.). Place was spotless and attractively decorated. Space is tight but pleasant, exactly per the photos. Skylights for light, and low curtained windows can be opened for fresh air. Well-equipped kitchenette! Good Wi-fi. Great heat! Large, convenient parking space. Pretty yard with daffodils. Nelle met our one special request in minutes and was flexible about checkout. Charming, responsive hosts!
Check in was seamless! Host was very accommodating in terms of check in. It was a quiet and beautiful spot for the weekend with our dogs! Will definitely be back :)!
Winslow State Park is just over a mile away (off leash for dogs November 1st-May 1st!), camping and a small beach. Great access for paddleboarding or kayaking.
Wolfe’s Neck State Park is about 8miles north, on the other side of Freeport. It has an active farm (often with the barn doors open to visit the animals!), miles of walking/hiking trails (dogs on leash year round), roads for biking, ocean views and lots of camp sites.
Stop in to visit the quaint village of South Freeport and the town wharf (~1.5 miles north) on your way to downtown Freeport's outlet shops and famous LL Bean stores (4 miles north).
There are a few well known local breweries (Maine Beer Company, Stars & Stripes, Goodfire, Mast Landing, Gritty's) and a distillery (Cold River) as well as many great restaurants all within five miles of the house.
Portland is about 15 miles south with endless fun things to do and see and popular places to eat.
There is additional information about local attractions, dining and activities in our listing “Guidebook” and in the apartment that you’re welcome to peruse upon your arrival.
Though only about four miles south of downtown Freeport, and 15 miles north of Portland, we’re in a fairly rural area so car is the quickest way to get around and parking isn’t a major issue anywhere you’d want to go. There is a Freeport taxi, but Uber and Lyft rides in/around Freeport are inconsistent so best to have your own vehicle. If you like to exercise you can choose from several great bike, walk or running routes right out the front door. There are a couple bars/restaurants and even a state park (with walking trails and a beach!) within a mile or two.
