Beautiful place! Highly recommend staying in this cabin if you are gonna visit the area.
The elegant but spare cabin design, with more window than wall area, yields a focus on the unspoiled natural beauty of the surrounding woods. The cabin had everything we needed and nothing we didn’t. The night we spent there was peaceful and restorative. Thank you, Doug, for realizing and sharing your vision. We will be back.
Worth every penny! A unique experience. The cabin and entire grounds are so well designed. Kitchen had everything I needed. The bathroom in the luxury cabin was great and the shared bathhouse for shared cabins is very nice too. Book an extra night because you won't want to leave! 😊. A great spot for solitude and quiet reflection or a fun outing with friends/loved ones. A trip to remember. 😊
We greatly enjoyed our place at the Desert of Maine! The cabin was beautifully designed, practical, and as described. The cabin was stocked with plenty of towels and coffee. It was about a 5-10 min drive to the restaurants in Freeport and about a 25-30 min drive to Portland. We look forward to our next stay!
