Algonquin Highlands · 民居里的独立房间 · 1室1床1.5卫 · 可住2人 · Sawyer's Creek B&B - Sawyer Room
Welcome to Sawyer's Creek B&B! Our 1873 farmhouse is nestled on 14 acres of mixed forest with many nearby trails to explore. The rooms are generous in size, filled with antiques, super comfortable beds and ceiling fans. The shared bathroom is luxurious with its polished nickel fixtures, claw foot tub and separate shower stall. A continental breakfast is available each morning of your stay. You can go ahead and request bagged lunches at an additional cost. We have three large rooms named after the families that settled and farmed the land. The Sawyer Room is the largest of our rooms, containing an extra-long king-size bed, an electric fireplace, and exquisite antique furniture. A newly renovated large shared bathroom has a claw foot tub and separate shower. We have a beautiful living room with an exposed wood beam ceiling, fireplace and flat-screen TV. You are more than welcome to borrow from the DVD lending library of over 2,000 titles. But more than likely, you'll be out playing in the gorgeous Haliburton Highlands.
We met Steve when we arrived and he was very friendly and helpful. Got us settled in and explained all the amenities. Beautiful home in a lovely area.
Absolutely LOVED my stay at Steve and Sarahs! Their place is so nice, clean, cozy and full of charm. The hosts were welcoming, gave me some great tips on things to visit in the area, I felt at home right away and would go out of my way to stay there again. 10/10!
Sarah and Steve were lovely. The house was immaculate and welcoming. Each bedroom has its own air conditioning and temperature control which was great. It was very convenient to where I was going as well as located equidistant between Minden and Halliburton. Very quiet and private with a deck and front porch. Having access to the full kitchen to store personal food and refrigerator for drinks was really convenient. They and the dog and 2 cats were very welcoming and friendly! Would definitely recommend.
Where to begin to tell you about all there is to do in the Highlands. A typical day in the summer could include; hiking or biking on the countless nearby trails. Or you could spend the day swimming, canoeing, kayaking and fishing on the lakes that surround us. The nearest public beach is a two minute car ride away. You can also visit the Wolf Centre at the Haliburton Forest and Wildlife Reserve. If you want a low-key day, go to one of three farmer's markets to buy local food and artisan treasures. If you are into the arts, you can catch a show at the Highlands Summer Festival or the Highlands Opera Studio. Great restaurants surround us including: Rhubarb, Heather Lodge, and Sir Sam's Inn. And don't forget, world famous Algonquin Park is just 1 hour North of us if you want a real wilderness experience. There so much more but we'll fill you in when you get here.

自我介绍
My husband Steve and I landed in the Haliburton area in the fall of 2014. We were originally looking for a cottage on one of the beautiful lakes in this area -- both of us cottaged here for many years. When the listing came up for this house, the first thing I said is "that house has to be a B&B, buy it!". So we didn't get a cottage but instead got the most beautiful house steeped in history. We've been renovating it getting it ready for guests and we will be open as of July 1, 2019. I am a former high school teacher and have since started my own tutoring business and Steve retired last December and works part time as a Child and Youth Worker in the schools. We couldn't be happier here. It is indeed heaven on earth. Steve is a former Bruce Trail Hike Leader and we met and got engaged on a Bruce Trail hike in Algonquin Park. The rest is history. I love singing and performing in plays so I get involved in the local theatre scene. I am also working on my first book. We love visiting with people and hearing their stories -- but we are also respectful of people's privacy and can leave you to the peace and quiet you are looking for. We hope you come to experience the wonder and beauty of the Haliburton and Algonquin Highlands.
