We’ve stayed here before and had an amazing time but this time wasn’t the best experience. The location was change few hours before arriving, campsite wasn’t clean, few other issues. We ended up leaving in the middle of the night on our second day.

This place is so beautiful it was a great ending to a perfect birthday weekend. Jaenette is such a kind, fun person!

When we arrived, Jaenette told us that her camp site was shut down a few days prior but she had other options for us (this is against airbnb’s terms of service). We could go to either a different beach spot with no bathroom or someone’s yard with a porta potty. We chose the beach spot since thats what we paid for. When she took us there, it was a literal junk yard with broken cars, car parts, plastic, metal, etc. It was right on the beach, so we tried to make the best out of a non ideal situation since we were 4 hours from home and felt like we had no other choice. Throughout the 2 days we were there, a few local people came to our campsite asking who authorized our stay and let us know that we were not welcome there. They also told us the person who owned the property we were camping on had recently died. I’m not sure if our camping there was even legal, but it was very sketchy and uncomfortable. Jaenette denied us a refund but Airbnb refunded our money right away since she did not provide us with the accommodations listed. I never saw the original property we were supposed to stay at, so I’m not sure if it exists or not. I wish she would have let us know right away that her camp site was shut down so that we could have made a decision before driving 4 hours to Grayland. Instead, she waited until the last possible minute and we had no other option.

I would like to start by saying, this was a holiday weekend. We had never stayed here but, of course, did not expect it to be quiet. However, i did expect to have some privacy as this is a first come first served place. I do have to say, the view is great and Jeanette is very friendly. Those are the extent of the positives. We arrived Thursday evening for a 4 night stay over 4th of July. First night there was fine. It was quiet and only 2 other campers. Friday night, everything changed. Jeanette comes to our tent at 9am yelling "good morning", "good morning". We do not wake up that early. But she proceeded to tell us she had to get 5 other RV's in the open area and would have to move us. After realizing we were still asleep, she said, oh I'll talk to you after you wake up. Later calls and says she has to get more RV's but wants to make sure we have a view since its first come first served. We didnt think anything of it and said ok and finished setting up camp. We had told her we were to have 5 people in our party. Later that day more and more people showed up. In one party there were at least 25 people. Jeanette was so worried about people having a "view" she shoved all these RV's into half of the open area. The people coming didnt like that the port o' potty was in there area so had 4 people move it down the road which caused splash all over the port o' potty. Additionally, one truck bringing in an RV almost hit my sons tent, that is how close they were. My partner had to yell at them to stop or they would have hit the tent. At 10pm another truck and RV come. Our kids are in bed. Again, noise is no big deal, however they were shining their lights in our tent site and honking their horn. my partner confronted them and they started yelling profanities and then proceeded to sent their alarm off a majority of the night making their horn beep and their lights flash in our children's tents. One couple from the large party right by us decided to set up a large 10 person tent right next to us, literally 4 feet from our campsite. We spent $320 for 4 nights. We left after 2 because it was not a good environment for us and our kids. They do not have a fire pit or picnic table for that price. You are to "make your own" fire pit and bring your own table. The sites are not marked off in any sort of way. We love private camp grounds..... this could have been done so much better for the price. We will not be back. We never heard from Jeanette..... I'm sure the large parties were happy to have our space. Also, i would like to say over half the space was empty but they were all piled into half the area so they could have a "view".

Beware: the property was a literal construction site/junk yard. The Listing’s description and photos depicting the area grossly misrepresented what we saw on site. When we arrived at the destination, we were very surprised to see bulldozers and excavators on the scene. The spot she recommended we pitch our tents on had just been excavated that day, leaving behind fragments of a fire pit and tractor tracks all over the earth. The steps down to the beach were completely dismantled, and she explained that they are in the process of creating a sea wall of sorts with dead trees and marine debris to abate the quickly eroding land this specific spot was located on. She pointed out the nearby dilapidated sheds, which appeared to have been vandalized with graffiti, as refuges if we needed to seek shelter from the rain, alongside the full porta potty. In addition, we saw glass and other types of debris on the ground. The other available spots were located adjacent to one another with little privacy. Contrary to what the Listing said, there was no sign of a “rustic treehouse” or hammock anywhere. We ultimately decided it was unsafe and quickly made other arrangements since it was later in the evening. Fortunately, there was an open campsite at the Grayland Beach State Park for $12/night, complete with a vaulted toilet and showers. A definite steal in comparison to a $75/night dumping ground! Airbnb and Jaenette both refused to reimburse me the nearly $200 I paid for my 2-night stay. You've been warned!
