My family loved staying at Alison's cottage in atmospheric Bagamoyo. We really felt like we were in the heart of the village (old town). It was easy to walk around and see the sights and the main beach was in easy walking distance as well. There are restaurants only a few minutes walk away, though we mainly cooked in the well supplied kitchen. The decor was beautiful, with a real coastal Swahili vibe and was pristinely clean when we arrived. My kids favourite bit was the swing couch in the plant-filled inner courtyard, which they spent alot of time lounging on! We really appreciated that there were ceiling fans in every room, even INSIDE the mozzie nets in the double bedrooms. Alison provided a binder with notes on sights & activiites, even a walking tour description. We also appreciated that Alison mentioned possible drawbacks (eg no a/c, morning village noise) in her description). It was really fantastic to feel part of the community, but have complete privacy at the same time.

Die Ferienwohnung ist wirklich toll! Sehr geschmackvoll eingerichtet, es gab einen vollen Wassertank mit Trinkwasser, eine Waschmaschine, zu jedem Zimmer ein Badezimmer! Auch Kinderspiele/-bücher waren da. Ventilatoren über jedem Bett innerhalb des Moskitonetzes. Und Alison ist echt sehr freundlich und unkompliziert. Sauber ist es dank ihrer netten Putzkraft auch! Sie kommt jeden Tag, wenn ihr wollt, zum Säubern!! Der einzige (!) Nachteil (und auf dem hatte Alison auch aufmerksam gemacht) war die Lautstärke der Gläubigen nachts während des Ramadan... Aber dafür kann sie ja nichts. ;-) Eine echte Empfehlung für Leute, die in Bagamoyo Urlaub machen.

A beautiful place in the heart of the Bagamoyo old town! Everything is there and nice hotels and the beach close by. It is not the most quiet place to stay in the town, but definitely one of the most central. We loved the time out in Bagamoyo.
