Had a lovely few days at Gatekeepers Cottage. Exactly as described and really well kitted out with everything you need. Although compact, the space didn’t feel cramped and was really comfortable for the 3 of us plus our dog. The hot tub was lovely - although it did take a while to heat up, once we got it up to temp it was fairly easy to manage (it’s wood fired). The staff at Grinkle Park hotel who own the cottage couldn’t have been more helpful and welcoming. We ventured up there for morning coffee and a few drinks after a day exploring. It’s a perfect base for reaching Whitby, Staithes and Saltburn-By-The-Sea. We will definitely be back!

Lovely little lodge. very cosy and perfect for a winter break with log burner and wood-fired hot tub. Plentiful supply of logs and kindling and a fantastic welcome hamper of treats. Thank you!

Nice little cottage, very generous hamper with lots of lovely goodies. Basic/surface cleaning is good and lots of towels. Hot tub is nice but takes some time to get warm however we were warned when we picked up keys. However there were some improvements that would make it better. It needs a good deep clean of windows and woodwork as have black mould. Missed basic condiments such as salt, pepper, oils etc Tv signal and Wi-Fi were terrible and no radio or games etc so struggle as wet weekend. Hotel gardens are lovely so surprised at lack of plants/flowers at the cottage.

We had a lovely 3 night stay. Perfect surroundings for a couple of nights with family and friends before our wedding. The breakfast at Grinkle Park Hotel is well worth the extra money. The staff couldn’t have been more helpful, helping to organising our 35 or so guests for a meal together in the hotel and blocking some of the car park so our coach back from our wedding venue could turn around. Thanks for a fantastic stay!
