What a wonderful find! The accommodation has so much character and is very thoughtfully decorated & furnished. It has a homely, rustic feel, with solid wood furniture, beautiful pottery & a roll-top bath! We spent a very cosy first evening curled up in front of the wood burning stove with a bottle of wine. The lovely little pottery below is an added, very special bonus & is clearly a well-loved amenity in the village. We felt very welcomed by Nick & Georgie and were grateful of advice given on local 'drinking-holes' (the nearby Brewery Tap - 5 mins walk - is a must visit!) and local walks (of which there were many!) We would love to go back.

Lovely stay, everything you need for a quiet cozy getaway and great location within the Forrest of Dean and surrounding areas for enjoying the great outdoors. Nick and Georgie were great hosts and have really thought of everything you could need. The Fountain Inn & Lodge is roughly 15min drive away and have a great menu and bar selection, especially for gluten-free and dairy-free options.

The cottage is so sweet and cosy. The fire place was a real luxury. Great walks around the forest and easy to get to with no car from London!

Myself and my partner had a wonderful weekend in Nick and Georgie's place, escaping hectic family life in Bristol. It has been thoughtfully and lovingly put together with everything you need. Particular highlights for us were the colour scheme, the warm lighting, the cosiness and the comfort. As others have said, it's an excellent log burner! Also enjoyed the local pub with a roaring open fire and the chip shop on the way home. Stunning walks practically on your doorstep. Nick and Georgie have created something very special at Birds, and they share it with you generously.
