The cottage was small but had everything you would need. Our only criticisms were the sofa bed, which was very uncomfortable to sleep on and there was no small garden as listed. We came with our small puppy and was expecting a small garden but there was only a very small patio/path area with large gaps under the fence therefore we could not let him off of his lead. However, there was a lovely grassed area just a short walk away by the river for him though. Isla is a very good host and caring for your stay.

The cottage is an ideal base, whether you want to explore the beautiful Forest of Dean area or you just want to get away from the city. You have a fabulous local pub just around the corner, and the village shop is also within walking distance. The cottage itself is exactly as cosy and well turned out as the pictures suggest, with a nice sitting room and a kitchen that has everything you need. The upstairs bedroom overlooks the River Wye, and you can fall asleep listening to the river flowing by. If you're a creative or just someone who works from your laptop, the study is a real highlight as well. It's a cozy space to work in, and it stays comfortably mild even on hot summer days. Isla was a welcoming and responsive host, and I really can't recommend the place enough.

Lovely little cottage. Isla was very welcoming and helpful and the cottage was fully equipped with everything we needed and more! Comfortable bed and nice views from the bedroom window. If bringing a dog as we did, there is no grass in the outdoor area, but there is a grass area only a few metres away near the river. Really enjoyed our stay and would recommend.

We had the loveliest stay at Isla's cottage! The surrounding area is idyllic and so peaceful, and there are great views right from the home itself. There are plenty of fun, outdoor activities nearby - we easily made arrangements to go canoeing (at Isla's suggestion), hiking, and spent a day in nearby Monmouth. The cottage was clean, comfortable and had everything we needed! Isla was a fantastic host - responsive, accommodating, and so kind! She even brought us fresh eggs from her chickens upon our arrival. HIGHLY recommend staying here if you're looking for a place in the area. We'll be back!
