Watch the lambs racing each other around our neighbours' field below, spot the buzzards circling above, and enjoy fresh-laid eggs from our resident chickens when available. The sounds of nature are here in abundance: the uplifting dawn chorus, the squeaking sounds of baby tawny owls demanding food, and the echoing calls of the lucky pheasants who escaped the local shoots. At night there are firepits available and when the sky is clear the stars are a wonder to behold. If you are lucky you may come across one of our resident hedgehogs, but you'll have to wait until after dawn to spot the timid rabbits busily nibbling the grass at the bottom of the garden.
The Coach House was warm and cosy for our arrival on a slightly chilly April day. It’s furnished to a high standard and is well equipped. We really enjoyed looking at the view and watching the birds in the garden. A lovely, relaxing, peaceful weekend. Simon was a very friendly host.
I really enjoyed my stay, the place was very peaceful and idyllic, with that beautiful view and all the wildlife I could see out of the window. The place was very comfortable and having a proper kitchen with oven and hob and all cooking equipment was great. Friendly hosts who were respectful of my privacy.
Staying at The Coach House was exactly the tonic we needed, a home away from home. Beautiful property with enclosed large green spaces for our pupster to run around in. Simon, Becca and their dogs Inca and Ruby (who are the cutest) were incredibly hospital, check in and check out was smooth, we were left yummy chocolates, local cheese and even more local eggs! Simon is always on hand, providing helpful guidance on how to check in and he even sent a long list of local eateries. Cannot fault this wonderful property and its owners, we had a peaceful and tranquil lovely stay and wouldn’t hesitate to stay again. Thank you so much for looking after us.
We had a really enjoyable stay at The Coach House over the Easter weekend. The place is beautiful, peaceful and well situated for lots of the towns and attractions of the Forest of Dean and the Wye Valley. Our 3 year old enjoyed being free to rampage around the garden and make friends with total softies Ruby and Inca who came to say hello each morning. Simon was on hand for any questions and had a perfect light touch approach to hosting. In terms of the local area - Puzzlewood and Perrygrove Railway (just across the road from one another) were hits with our son. We also managed a short walk with great views around Symond's Yat. Would really recommend the Boat Inn in Penallt which has a brilliant beer garden (park in Redbrook main car park and walk across the bridge). We only wish we had been able to stay in the area for longer and hope to be back in the future!
What can I say, what an incredible break, space and host. We had the most amazing 3 nights in Simons Coach house, he was such an attentive host, and the space is absolutely stunning. Beautifully calm, incredible views, and absolutely second to none finishing touches to everything, it was bliss. We took our spaniel and 3 week old baby, and it was the dream break away. Thank you and your wife for the amazing few days, we will definitely be staying again

The towns of Coleford, Monmouth and Ross-on-Wye are less than twenty minutes drive away, with plenty of restaurants, shops and pubs.
