The Accommodation is a Studio Flat , upstairs . It has a kitchenette . With an Open plan area . Which contains a king size bed, a dinning area and a seating area, which contains a sofa bed. It has a shower room. Roughly 40m2 We are in Twatt, 5 miles from Skarabrae, and well based to visit the historic sites of the westmainland We don’t provide breakfasts . But we do however provide a welcome pack which contains breakfast materials We have a Studio flat available for rent. Its is a large space which is run by renewable heating system fed by a wind turbine. We also have wifi for guests to use with no charge. The studio has an open plan area, with a king size bed, a double sofa bed . A kitchenette . The kitchen has fridge and dishwasher. Also available are laundry facilities at the back of the house in separate building . The studio flat is upstairs and shares a communal hallway with the main flat

A lovely little self-contained unit which allowed us to cook in, or eat out as the mood took us. A beautiful location with wide views, and for those interested, just down the road from the RSPB Loons Hide. While a little remote itself, it was a great base for exploring Orkney Mainland and venturing off to some of the other islands. Robert was very helpful with advice on visiting the main attractions of the island, and without his advice we might not have got to see Maeshowe. Thoroughly recommended.
The road signs on Orkney could be better but apart from that everything was excellent. Robert was helpful, an interesting host and made our stay more enjoyable with local knowledge and good advice. The studio flat was better than we imagined from the site and it’s perfectly situated for getting about on Orkney Mainland. Well done, recommended. Thanks - Paul B

Great stay, felt right at home.
Simply a great place. Compact kitchen with all the requisites, brand new bathroom with larger shower and with great water pressure (very important) and then a great open plan dining, lounge, and double bed space. The location of the house is ideal for any exploration of the west coast of mainland. Would definitely stay here again

This house is a great base for doing the west mainland of Orkney .The Following places are nearby our house. The Loon's Nature reserve run by the RSPB (1/2 mile). Marwick bay/head with the Kitcheners Memorial.(2.5 miles)
Twatt Airfield, WW2 Airfield with remains of the buildings still in situ (1 mile)
Brough of Birsay, Earls palace, (3 miles)
Maeshowe, Pre booking for tours is required (10 miles)
Standing Stones of Stenness. (9 Miles)
Ness of Brodgar (July and August) (8.5 miles)
Ring of Brodgar (8 miles).
Skara Brae (5 miles)
The towns of Stromness and Kirkwall are 10 and 17 miles respectively
While there is local buses that run nearby the house, they tend to be only morning and evening worker buses.
So we highly recommend you having your own transport. There is plenty of parking at the house.
There are also Tour guides who would be willing to take you around Orkney.
