Hi, we had a nice time at the house. The house is very spacious and situated on the top of a hill with a nice view. Very nice and calm surroundings (lots and lots of butterflies,...). You reach the house via a gravel road which takes approx. 15 minutes after leaving the main road.

Wir waren 4 Erwachsene und 8 Kinder / Jugendliche. Eine Woche im Juli. Hatten super Wetter. Schöner Pool. Küche gut gelegen: gleich beim Ausgang zum Aussensitzplatz und am Weg zum Pool. 12 Personen haben gut Platz an dem grossen Tisch auf dem Sitzplatz. Wir haben immer draussen gegessen. Bitte daran denken, alles mitzunehmen: Salz, Pfeffer, Oel, Essig, Zucker, Geschirrtücher selber mitbringen. Schwamm, Abwaschmittel und Handseife und natürlich genügend Geschirr, Besteck, Schüsseln und Pfannen waren vorhanden. Die Zimmer waren dunkler als auf den Fotos. Es hatte für alle genügend Platz und wir haben gut geschlafen. Das Haus liegt auf einem Hügel und deswegen war die Temperatur auch zum Schlafen angenehm. Man ist dort ganz allein und muss auf keine Nachbarn Rücksicht nehmen. Das war uns sehr sympathisch mit unserer lebendigen Mannschaft. Diese Ruhe und Einsamkeit haben die lange, kurvige und holperige (10 min Naturstrasse) Anfahrt wieder wettgemacht. 40 min zum Meer mindestens.

If you are looking for a vacation spot far off the beaten path, where you can leave the world behind and experience tranquillity and peace than Casale Camberotti is THE place for you. This is exactly what we where hoping for when we read in the description 4 km dirt road. The road is in good order although it is just a one lane track. It was very dry in July 2022 so we were thoroughly dusted, but it just added an adventurous note. We were there with 12 persons – 2 Families & Friends ranging from 20 to 85. The least experienced driver with the smallest car (Toyota Aygo) had no problems driving the track, even by night. You might encounter wildlife – deer, wild pigs – but don’t worry, they are shy and disappear into the surrounding woods. The house is situated at the end of the road in the middle of oak woods – just go on when you think it can’t go any further, the signs are true! It is located solitary in a clearing overlooking the hills and as far as the sea! We had also spectacular sunsets! The house itself is a solid stone structure with lovely furnished rooms Tuscan style. We found plenty of room even for such a big party as we were with the two separate living rooms with couches, seats and tables that give you the opportunity to relax indoors on hot or rainy days. WiFi is available. We used the dining room with its large table seating 8 comfortably and the big cupboard as storage for our victuals or as extra space for the preparation of meals. We found the kitchen big enough for our big crew as there were seldom more than 2 people preparing meals. On arrival the warm water heater on the ground floor did not work, but – believe it or not - when we mentioned this it was fixed the day after! I don’t know what Magic Lisa and Markus worked there, but if you need a craftsman at home it takes forever to get one... There were plenty of pots and pans as well as dishes and cutlery for everybody. When renting the whole house you can share the tools with the upstairs appartement in case something is missing downstairs, but you’ll have to move everything back on departure in order to give following guests the necessary equipment for each unit! We always use to bring basic tools to each vacation, because we love to cook: for example a couple of sharp knifes, but the ones in the house were ok. Bedrooms and baths were super – all clean and spacious. We ordered bedlinen and towels – everything was provided. Please note, if you choose to bring your own bed linen – these are Italian style beds – no duvets like you have them in Germany. You have – in summer – a big light cover for the whole bed, then a linen sheet, another sheet on the mattress and of course the pillows with a pillow case. With over 30 degrees you barely need the linen sheet! Outdoors you have a shady terrace with a big sturdy table and benches comfortably seating 12. There even is a couch with matching seats and table. Lounging chairs are at the pool. The pool was clean and well maintained. Our tip: Take care not to leave food unattended on the table outdoors – the place belongs to the omnipresent ants! They were there before you and they will be still there when you leave... Markus comes and looks after the property and the pool. He is a real gem! Lisa provided us with tipps for near beaches and shopping opportunities, places to go to last for weeks! They were both extremly kind and helpful. All in all we have to say, this was the most beautiful place and house we have ever been to in Italy – and we visit regularly since 20 years! Exceptional and unforgettable! I don’t mean it is overly luxurious or perfect – but you’ll find everything you need and the value for the money is adequate! As an extra: You have a beautiful hinterland with Sassetta and Suvereto, Monterotondo etc. to explore, you have Castagneto Carducci, Bolgheri and San Vincenzo, Cecina and Marina di Cecina nearby – all really wonderful spots! The best beach we found was Baratti! A large sand beach dotted with bars, free beach as well as „bagnos“ providing umbrellas and lounge chairs.

The Casale is beautiful. Bedrooms and bathrooms comfortable and charming. Kitchen very small and ill equipped for 12 guests, not even a pot big enough to boil pasta for 12 people! There were also not enough wine glasses nor water glasses for 12! We had to ask for umbrellas for shade around the pool, because there is no shade from trees and not enough sun lounges for 12 people also. Markus, the caretaker, was enormously helpful however and helped us out in every way. He also recommended some great local spots. The directions to get there on the airbnb site where TOTALLY wrong and after several frustrating and hot hours we called the check in lady, Lisa and she was also very kind and helpful in giving us the correct directions. Novosol only ever sent robot responses to our queries which directed us to DF Servizi Turistici who were not helpful either, only once responding to our many phone calls. We were instructed to dispose of our own rubbish, which is not unusual, but there were only 2 bins that did not offer the separation of recyclable waste (paper, glass,organic, plastic and generic) - the communal bins that were an 8km drive along a dirt road. We also requested for all the beds to be made up only to discover that they weren't. Markus was quick to help us with that. The surrounding countryside is very beautiful and it was very peaceful and private, but be prepared to take every single thing you might need, starting with salt and tea towels, with you. It would take only a little bit of love and care for this casale to be truly magical.
