Top Unterkunft! Sehr zu empfehlen. Super sauber und schön eingerichtet. Vom Sofa aus kann man das Meer sehen und bekommt bei gutem Wetter einen super Sonnenuntergang zu Gesicht. Die Lage ist ziemlich abgelegen, was uns für die 3 Nächte nicht gestört hat. Die 5-6 km zum Leuchtturm kann man ganz ok wandern (mit Hunden etwas anstrengend, da hunderte Schafe am Wegesrand stehen) und mit dem Auto ist man in knapp 20 Minuten im Ort Gairloch, in dem uns das Museum und das Restaurant Black Pearl sehr gut gefallen haben.
There were a couple of drawbacks. The parking being one. Having to open and close an awkward gate and park on a steepish slope. If you're not good at reversing (I'm rubbish) it would be a big problem. The other was not being able to allow our dog in the garden unsupervised. Also there was extra rules about pets not in the original information. Not leaving them in the house unattended. Tbf when I asked if we could as we were having problems with our car alarm we were told it would be ok. .Otherwise the house was lovely. Just a bit too far out of the way for us.
We had a lovely few nights at Steven's place - it is spotlessly clean and very comfortable with a very well equipped kitchen. Steven sent clear instructions on how to locate the cottage, communicated quickly and lives next door if needed. Melvaig is situated in a spectacular location with amazing views across to Skye and the Outer Hebrides and a walk over the hill gives an incredible long range view of mountains in many directions. I would certainly recommend Steven's place if you are visiting the area.
Seacroft Cottage hat mir sehr gut gefallen. Ruhig und privat, schöner Blick zum Meer, über Wiesen mit Schafen. Die gesamte Unterkunft makellos sauber und top ordentlich, die Ausstattung sehr gepflegt und hochwertig. Steven ist sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit und die Kommunikation mit ihm war immer präzise, schnell und zuverlässig. Von der ersten bis zur letzten Minute habe ich meinen Aufenthalt genossen und komme sehr gerne wieder. 5 Sterne wohlverdient!
We loved our stay in this lovely, well appointed cottage. It was very clean and comfortable, with great views and a great location. The owner had very thoughtfully and helpfully provided some kitchen basics which was appreciated. All in all, it was a great cottage for our stay in Wester Ross.

I love to travel and have lived in several countries including France, Belgium, Germany and the USA. I have spent most of my life living in Edinburgh but I am now enjoying the 'Highland' life. Living up here gives you a sense of freedom and a chance to 'get out there'. The scenery is amazing. The best in Scotland I think. I love music, art, photography and being outside whether it's taking the dog out for a long walk or hiking up into the hills. It's great to meet other people from all walks of like too. It's important to know the world is full of amazing people.
