While she seemed nice and the place was ok, I got a different room than what was in the photos. Also messaging was difficult, as there was a large language barrier and I couldn’t meet the host in person. The area is very noisy.

Maria is a great host as she is friendly and kind. The place is exactly like the photos. The place is clean and very comfortable. I highly recommend staying at her place if visiting new york for a short period, like a day or two. The room is big, amenities provided as well, privacy secured. 10/10

It's a fine room about ~1 hour away from NYC. It's a shared apartment with another guest room and the host's room. Going to get ahead of this- Maria left some soup out in the shared kitchen. After >5 hours of it sitting out, I thought she made it for me and had some. When she realized she started yelling at me - I said sorry but there is a language barrier (she does not speak English). I immediately ordered $49.79 of food from Uber Eats which arrived 30 minutes later. I messaged her about this, knocked on her door, and left it outside her door, but she ignored me for the rest of the stay. She moved the food that night (so I know she saw it). I have pictures and receipts of all of this. Since then she's tried to request $150 for damages (i.e. me eating some of her soup). This was an unfortunate misunderstanding but this request for "damages" is ridiculous. I was going to leave an ok review but this has left a bad taste in my mouth. TLDR: OK room, stay away from the host.
