A beautiful, rustic setup. The General's Retreat is essentially a village home that has been spruced up with basic modern amenities like ACs, a microwave, kitchenware, a gas supply, TV, etc. But the main charm of the place is the location. Zero disturbance from crowds, plenty of access to easy hike-worthy hills and a never ending coast of the Bhatghar lake. If you want anything more or different than what is described above to (utilities, facilities, etc.), then please go for alternate options. But if you are of the ilk that cherishes what the place offers in its simplicity and wants a quiet village stay with plenty of hiking, walking or relaxing options, then this is heaven.

This is an excellent property right in middle of 4 acres of farm. The farm is perfectly placed by the side of the lake. The air is pristine. The banyan tree just outside the house is an excellent resting place for afternoons. The place is well decorated and has all the necessities available. The Marathi cuisine served by the caretakers wife is flavorful. Must try Bharleli Vangi. The place is safe as locals are friendly. The hosts have been in touch right from the time of booking, till the end of our journey. Thank you Sharayu for making our holiday a wonderful experience.

We had a beautiful stay at the General's Retreat and Sharayu and her husband have been excellent hosts. The cottage is very spacious and well maintained with a large common room and two separate bedrooms with attached bathrooms. We felt very well looked after at all times. This is an ideal location and starting point for visits to Rajgad Fort and nearby places. Looking forward to visit again, Marcus

We had a fabulous time at the 'General's Retreat'. The enormous living room is a delight in itself and we hardly felt the need to actually go out. You get a great view of the lake from it, a cool breeze blows throughout the day and Dnyaneshwar and his wife (the caretakers) serve delicious homecooked food. The decor is tasteful and extremely cosy. Its the sort of place that makes you feel at home instantly. Sharayu was extremely helpful at all times as well, with directions and other relevant information. Though she wasn't in town, she made sure she checked with us during our stay if we were okay. We will definitely look forward to visiting again!

This place is a little remote and secluded but that said it is the most beautiful village I have ever been to this side of Maharashtra. The view of the lake and the ghats around is just fabulous. And the best part is my Vodafone Network which does not even work at the heart of Mumbai was was literally flying at 4g speeds here and that was such a pleasant surprise! The property is outstandingly, the house is tastefully done and has a lovely rustic vibe. Everything was available including a very helpful caretaker who is available on call or is a shout away. The views around are just stunning and you can go for long endless walks. Can't wait to plan another trip! Sharayu is an excellent host and very helpful. Had a great trip... thanks!
