We had a great stay at Oak Cottage. The cottage was clean, with fresh bedding and towels. It was everything we needed apart from it lacked hot water. Instructions said it heated up overnight, but by the morning water was still only luke warm. It had an electric shower though, which was good and borhing a kettle of hot water couldnt solve!

Great place! Easy to get to other places in Lake District, couple of pubs just 30mins/5min drive away. Lovely castle grounds and endless walks in the area. Very clean, cosy, and warm cottage. I highly recommend :)

Excellent location for access to the North East Lakes and Eden Valley. Easy to navigate to, quiet, clean and comfortable. Acres of walking and riding routes on the doorstep around the Lowther Estate.

Great location amongst friendly people. The weather was great so we spent time at Lowther days and evenings including the adventure playground next to the village hall. The motorway is close but there was very little noise. Previous reviews mention the living room sofa, it is difficult to get comfy but we weren't using it for too long. We spent time watching bats and listening to owls from the skylights. The bike storage shed was good and kitchen size and kit was great. We did have an issue with hot water but given my background i knew what to do, put on timed to turn on and use boost! A great place to stay for a week or longer
