Tranquil Villa was a perfect home away from home while in Dominica visiting family! - The house is a bit hard to find (even for locals) but once you do, it’s super private and extremely secure. The property is gated and fenced all the way around with enormous mango trees providing total privacy - The house is much larger than it appears in photos with a large living room, kitchen, and bedrooms. The enormous main bedroom has a king bed and the other three bedrooms have queens (one with no AC which we used for storage) - From kitchen utensils and appliances, to a crazy amount of towels, the house is well stocked with anything you might need. The only thing we brought along were pool floats/toys - The pool is large (3-5 feet deep) and was warm most days. We also had warm water for showers as long as the sun was out - Ms. Edris assists with check in and comes every other day to clean during the week, pool cleaning is also included We will definitely be back and 100% recommend!
We had a great stay at the villa. Lots of space with a well equipped kitchen, and having the pool was great for a morning and evening dip. The villa was well positioned very close to Roseau and a great supper market at the bottom of the hill.Hiring a car is essential if you want to see the island, I would recommend Kingdom cars.Overall a lovely and relaxing stay.
Although we never met Colin, his texts and instructions were timely and complete. His caretaker, Edris, was wonderful. When we discovered that the blender had been broken, she located another and brought it over the next day! We really appreciated her care of the house and grounds. The house is spacious and well laid-out. The outdoor spaces are amazing: the beautiful, large, pool; the seating areas in both sun and shade; the garden; and , especially , the large covered outdoor "livingroom/dining room with lovely breezes. We were close to Roseau for the Fresh Market and the outdoor market. We also enjoyed Lacou Melrose for dinner.
The house was great.Good location, nice pool clean very comfortable. Highly recommend it.
The directions to this lovely house were perfect and very necessary, since streets on this island often do not have street signs! There was a torrential downpour the day we arrived and the drive from the airport was difficult and scary. The roads are narrow, hilly, and twisty. The house is beautiful, the kitchen is well equipped, and the pool is great. The water appears to be heated by a solar tank on top of the house, so showers are warmest in the late afternoon. Unfortunately we arrived at Carnival time, so stores were closed and roads were crowded and some were closed off. We had no internet (so no tv) the whole time we were there, which meant we spent a lot of money on cell data to access the internet. We also did not know if the water in the house was potable so we bought a lot of water. Communication with Colin on these two issues was not good. We wish there were fans in the LR and kitchen, which have no AC. We are still itching from insect bites we got at night inside the house.

I am a wandering Geordie from Whitley Bay. I came from England to Dominica with my family in the summer of 1997. I am widely travelled and lived in South Africa, Kenya, USA and Australia, but remain an ardent Newcastle United fan. Love meeting fellow wanderers. We wanted to bring up our family in a more relaxed environment than England. My wife is from Barbados but spent most of her life in England. We had never heard of Dominica and had no links with the country. We were considering buying a small farm in Guadeloupe then read about Dominica in a Liat in-flight magazine. We came, we saw and we fell in love. A year later we all relocated to Dominica and have never looked back. We love its beautiful clean rivers, lush forests and the gentleness of the people. We brought up our family here and try not to take for granted the wonder of living so close to nature. We are environmentalists at heart and like adventurous people who value the simple things in life, who are open to new experiences and who realise that we are all one people in this diverse world. With our property you can have your space. We are renting the whole of the main house and if you need us we live close by.
