This gorgeous 3 bedroom cottage, is in the quiet village of Skirmett, situated in the Hambleden Valley, in a particularly pretty area of the Chilterns. Many films and TV series have been filmed in the area, as it is often thought of as quintessentially English. Just a hop and a skip from London and its airports and a short distance from Marlow, Henley or High Wycombe stations... come and step back in time and enjoy a rural setting you won't forget. You enter into a sitting area with wood burning stove and tv, there is a semi open plan dining area with desk nextdoor and this opens onto a kitchen with direct access to the garden. Upstairs there is a double bedroom and and additional 2 single bedrooms and one bathroom, with bath and overbath shower and it's own access from the landing. The garden is secure with a shed and there is off street parking.

A lovely cottage in the midst of gorgeous countryside-a real bolt hole . Spotlessly clean with high quality essentials such as shampoo / conditioner/ olive oil / tea bags etc plentiful. It’s small but perfectly formed!

My girlfriends and I loved our overnight stay at The Old Post Office. It is well located to visit the local villages and enjoy beautiful walks. It is so characterful, warm and cosy. Loads of space to relax and eat. The kitchen is a really good size and well equipped. The garden is quiet and private. We were provided with ample towels and toiletries. The tea, coffee, milk, sugar and biscuits are a nice touch. Great to be provided with 2 parking spaces. We had dinner at The Chequers (a 15 minute walk from the cottage) - very friendly staff and the food was delicious. Overall, a fabulous stay and we would highly recommend.

Skirmett, set in the Hambleden Valley, is in an area of outstanding natural beauty, with plenty of opportunities to enjoy the countryside on the extensive footpath and bridleway network, within a few minutes walk. The Frog pub in the village is fantastic and a short stroll up the lane. Want to bring your horse? Rent a field or stable from us and park your horse box or trailer at our stable yard next door.

Parking is easy, as you have your own parking space next to the house and there is also free parking on the lane outside. we are not far from Henley on Thames, High Wycombe, Reading and Marlow stations and there are a number of local taxi firms we can recommend.

Having grown up in the beautiful village of Hambleden, I have enjoyed village life, (and it's locals), and the occasional film star, (our picturesque village is often featured on the big screen). I can't wait to show you our lovely local towns and villages, breathtaking walks, exciting cycling, scenic horse riding, river activities, traditional pubs and gourmet restaurant, and an extraordinary village life, which is like stepping back in time.
