A self-contained apartment downstairs in a centrally located detached house with free driveway parking. Approx.300m walk into Tavistock. You'll have your own entrance, an area of the garden that is primarily for you, a large sun-facing decking area, comfortable outdoor chairs, large gazebo, lounge/diner with patio doors onto decking, Large flatscreen tv with Prime&Netflix, kitchenette with breakfast items, bedroom with various storage and kingsize bed, a lovely private bathroom with shower. The kitchenette has a worktop combi oven/airfyer/grill, microwave with combi options, fridge with small freezer compartment, coffee machine, cafetière, toaster and kettle. It does not have a hob. I will liaise with each booking about what breakfast items they would like to have for the first couple of days. I also provide a range of teas, coffee etc as well as some basic essentials. There is a Coop approx 100m away and various other eating options nearby. The washing machine and dryer can be used for a small extra fee. I have body boards that you are welcome to borrow for beach days. The driveway has room for two cars side by side. Please park to one side ensuring there is room for my car too, thanks. The garden has a private area for you except for when I need to water the plants or access the shed/tap. There is a folder in the property with lots of ideas for places to visit, local attractions, places of interest etc There are 18 steps (with a left sided handrail) to the property from the parking place. I will gladly help with your luggage if required. There is strictly no smoking or vaping either in or next to the house. There will be a receptacle provided in the garden gazebo for the disposal of cigarette butts.

loved my stay in Tavistock and Sam made a warm welcome, was in constant contact and ready to help with anything local. The accommodation is very central within 10-15 minutes walk of shops, pubs and restaurants. Highly recommended
Samantha is a very welcoming host and she ensures that her guests are very well looked after. We felt right at home and cosy for the few days that we stayed. Samantha was a wonderful host, very accommodating and helpful with directions and recommendations. The apartment has everything you could need and more for a peaceful stay in a lovely town. Sam's place is a real home from home. Sam has thought of everything! 5* for the extra treats from fruit, sweets, biscuits, bread, marg, jam, marmalade, sauces, soup & every item under the sun to make our stay wonderful. Bed is extremely comfortable. Double shower is great with every toiletry required. Inside space is enormous with a nice garden space when it is sunny. We could have stayed here for much longer than 2 nights. Only thing missing is a hob but that wasn't a huge problem for us. Some people may struggle with the steps up to the property but this is noted in the host's description. Sam herself is very welcoming & helpful but doesn't intrude on your privacy. Definitely will be back if we need to stay in Tavy again.

On the doorstep of stunning Dartmoor, Tavistock is a beautiful ancient stannary town known for its many independent shops and cafes, two swimming pools, a museum etc. There is an indoor pannier market that has different themes on different days (open Tuesday to Saturday), next to its the newly converted Butchers Hall that hold special events and markets throughout the year. There is a popular farmers market on the 2nd, 4th and 5th Saturdays of the month (more details on these will be at the bnb)Tavistock is also known as a foodie town with many choices and options for all tastes. A 10- 15 minute walk away from the bnb is the Tavistock Wharf which has a cinema and coffee shop. It is well known for its tribute bands. Check out their website for what's on. There are many further ideas for activities that I can email you and also a file of information for places of interest and attractions at the bnb
The bnb is right alongside the Sustrans Cycle Route 27 which goes from Plymouth to Ilfracombe. Bikes can be hired locally.
The town taxi rank is just couple minutes walk or they will come to the house.
The bus station is 10 min walk through town, Buses connect various local locations and towns.
Gunnislake (10/15 min drive) has a train branch line to Plymouth and then the option to either catch a connecting train further afield or just walk into Plymouth centre.

I have stayed in many airbnbs in different countries. I love being outdoors , the beaches and the moors. I enjoy yoga,walking, being creative, meditating and time with friends. I retired early from my job as social worker to try and achieve a more balanced lifestyle.
