A stunning, converted forge and stable situated in the Welsh border village of New Radnor - perfect for romantic weekend, as a walking retreat, exploring the nearby amazing medieval towns and villages, participating in outdoor pursuits or simply to relax and enjoy the breathtaking local scenery and surroundings. The Old Fforge has been thoughtfully renovated and converted to retain its traditional features and soul. We have installed comprehensive facilities to make it totally self-contained and comfortably modern with considerate touches . It is a rustic, luxurious, relaxing and romantic environment ; a place for you to unwind, curl up in front of the fire and simply enjoy your time away. The 18th century village ‘Smithy’ features high ceilings, light stone walls and beautiful exposed wooden beams. The large, Smithy Room is an open plan living/ dining/ kitchen space with large fireplace and wood burner. The Living area is furnished with sofa, arm chairs, cushions, rugs, candles, books, games, and Bluetooth speaker- all designed to give you a cozy, comfortable and relaxing retreat! FREESAT TV, and complimentary unlimited WiFi access. The original stone Forge structure has become the dining nook with table and seating. The kitchen area is fully equipped and includes an electric hob & oven, microwave, fridge, dishwasher and Nespresso machine! The Front door entrance and seating works brilliantly as a boot room and should you need to work, doubles up as a study area Walk through into the old Stable which has been converted into a bedroom -although we have kept some of the original tethering for horses on display! The straw bedding has now been replaced with a luxury super- king sleigh bed , and the water trough is now a large modern bath and shower! (toilet is separate) At the rear and to one side of the cottage (alleyway to parking area)is a small, private, paved courtyard equipped with table and chairs , containers growing fresh herbs and a mini portable BBQ .There is direct access via the kitchen back door Fresh bed linen and towels for the bathroom and kitchen are provided as are the kitchen basics such as Tea, coffee, sugar, salt and pepper, oil etc.and not forgetting loo roll, washing up liquid and dishwasher tablets! ). There is a little welcome pack for your arrival including some local goodies! The entire cottage has been fitted with underfloor heating to keep you warm and toasty, as well as additional radiators, wood for the Woodburner, and hot water bottle
