What a wonderful welcome we were given by Michael and John! The Rectory looks out over beautiful countryside and we were made to feel immediately at home with tea and homemade biscuits, sat beside a warming wood burner in a lounge available for our enjoyment. Our bedroom was beautifully furnished and comfortable, and the bathroom was pristine and spacious. We enjoyed a delicious cooked breakfast, finished off with toast and a wonderful selection of homemade jams. John and Michael had also gone to the trouble of accommodating my gluten free diet, which was greatly appreciated. To sum up, it was absolutely first class!
This is the second time we came to their house. Our experience this time was as lovely as the first! Ideal Airbnb for you to take a break and rest with some of the best hosts we've met in our lives.
We had a wonderful time at The Rectory. John and Michael were really friendly, hospitable hosts and gave us many great recommendations for the local area. The rooms themselves are very well decorated and spotless throughout. The bed was very comfortable, the bathroom was luxurious, and the breakfast was excellent. We wouldn’t hesitate to stay again next time we’re in the area.

We had the most relaxing stay at the Rectory! John & Michael were very friendly and accommodating, they made us feel right at home. We loved the coffee and homemade biscuits on arrival. The bedroom and bathroom were beautiful, like a 5* hotel but with extra personal touches. The bed was so comfortable it was difficult to get out of it! We had thought we just had the room but actually had a beautiful private lounge and dining room/ conservatory/ outside seating area to lounge in. We made good use of the pool which is fabulous. The breakfast was delicious, all produce fresh and locally sourced. I was obsessed with the potato rosti! We would love to come back for a longer stay next time!

Michael and I opened The Rectory to guests at the end of July 2020, with the aim of creating an eclectic, stylish, secluded oasis of calm and informal luxury. It’s the sort of place we always dreamed of staying yet rarely discovered. From the time you enter through the automatic gate to the time you leave we will work to ensure your stay is exactly as you hope.
