Some friends and I booked the cottage hoping we'd get a great view of the eclipse - and we did! The cottage is rustic but cozy, comfortable, and clean. We got great eclipse-viewing weather and the wonderful deck was the perfect place to watch it. Because we were there early in the season we weren't able to take full advantage of all the outdoor opportunities, but we spent a lot of time walking the Causeway, hanging out on the deck, and enjoying the view of the lake. I look forward to staying there again sometime and doing some bicycling and paddling.

Loved, loved, loved my stay at the cottage. Walking distance to the walking trail, Causeway. Beautiful morning walks and evening sunsets on the beach. Such a great place to recharge.

Beautiful area with incredible views! We loved the beach, and bike trails and there were lots of great amenities close by. Unfortunately I would not be able to stay again. When we arrived I noticed a musty smell and found standing water on the bathroom floor. We appreciated that Rich was quick to respond and came by to address the leak. But there was visible mold on the wall and we could see evidence of previous water damage throughout the house. There was also mold on the curtains in the bedroom, cobwebs and dust everywhere and stains on the couch. We had to wash bedding and dishes before using them as they were visibly dirty too. We also felt uneasy about the large number of spiders throughout the house. If you are sensitive to cleanliness, dust, mold or bugs, you would not be comfortable here. We honestly would at least like our cleaning fee refunded. The area really is wonderful and Rich was kind and responsive, the house just was NOT comfortable for us.

While we found Rich to be helpful and responsive, we would not stay at this property again. We found it very shabby: broken tile, water damaged floors and door frames, blinds missing adjuster sticks/pulls, etc. We were also expecting a waterfront property with great views. While the back deck was the best part of the property with great furnishings, this is the second cottage up from the beach so the true view is of the neighbor's property: their home, their both, their Kia Sorento.... The beach is VERY close, but we weren't planning on going into the water, we just wanted a nice view, which we didn't get here. As another reviewer mentioned, it is also quite musty. I imagine it's better with the the A/C or heat on, but we didn't need either so it did feel a bit musty, especially with carpets in the bedrooms. The two Double rooms were a good size and did have great storage for a beach cottage. The third bedroom is appropriate for small children only. 5 star host, 2 star property.
