Our family really enjoyed being at the fox den! It’s a great location if you want easy access to the town! Kurt was very communicative and reached out to ask if we needed any help with anything.

Very nice place, conveniently located in the mountain town of Shaver Lake. Walking distance to everything in town. I will definitely be staying there again. We were lucky enough to get 16 inches of snow over night. The roads were cleared immediately. The cabin was well stocked with all necessary items and everything was in very good condition. China Peak ski resort is close would be great place to stay and ski or just hang out and enjoy the wilderness. Till next time!! Great place!!

First, I liked the cabin's location and proximity to China Peak. I love the area of downtown Shaver Lake. But while the pictures of this unit show both a central heating duct and a wood burning stove, it no longer has the stove and there is no actual heating unit connected to the duct or wall mounted thermostat. It has room space heaters, and the one in our room was malfunctioning to the point that it was emitting a loud intermittent buzzing sound (like an alarm clock) that I suspect is an electrical short. It was very cold in the unit even with the space heaters. Also, the kitchen does not have a stove or a standard size oven. it has a small toaster oven, a hot plate, and a crock pot. The crock pot was filthy. For what we paid, we expected a little more than that. I messaged the owners as soon as i got home about the heating issues, but did not get a response. If the unit had central heating, I could live with the limited kitchen. But the space heater is a fire hazard.
