Words can’t begin to describe how wonderful we have been treated both times we have visited. We are honest when we say that they are THE BEST hosts in the twenty or so I have been to all over the country. Even down to the ceiling fans with zero dust, the care given is to be admired.

The accommodation is as amazing as the photos indicate: a historically significant and beautiful house, immaculately and lovingly restored and maintained. The accommodation on the top floor is spacious and charming, with comfortable and attractive furnishings as well as intriguing nooks and objects to explore and admire. We were 2 unrelated travelers, and I chose (excitedly) to sleep in the upper alcove, leaving the main bed for my traveling companion. Climbing the sturdy ladder each night made me feel like a child again. The amenities were generous and of good quality -- exactly as described. Communication with Rick was efficient and pleasant. There are flights of stairs to climb (shoes off, please to spare the floors!) and that ladder to the alcove. The description is honest in describing the access. Downtown Red Wing and the mighty river are a quick stroll away. Wonderful value (a bargain!) -- I'll definitely return.
