My partner booked the Douglas fir cottage for me to have a New Year’s Eve weekend staycation while getting some much needed work done in a quiet, and peaceful place. The space is absolutely gorgeous and tucked away in a quiet Kalamazoo neighborhood. The kitchen was fully stocked with all of my cooking needs and featured a TON of Judd Tanja ceramics (he’s known well locally) and I loved seeing those true to Kalamazoo touches. The upstairs bathroom clawfoot tub with the roof skylight is amazing. Being able to listen and hear the rain while relaxing was fantastic. Kara was a responsive, intuitive, and kind host. I cannot wait to book my next staycation!

Great place with character! Heads up for families, there are lots of really awesome and probably breakable decorations around so do a sweep before letting your little ones roam :) We enjoyed the coffee maker, comfortable beds, and both bathrooms are very nice. Kids shared the upstairs room and we were downstairs, but it's a little far from each other if they were any younger (5&3). There is another upstairs space to use with a younger family (sitting room) if you bring a pack and play and then use the upstairs bed yourselves. the twin upstairs is a pullout but fine for a kid. Centrally located it seems, though I don't know Kalamazoo very well. We were visiting family nearby and it was nice to have a place of our own. we will be back next time!

This location worked well for us and grandsons taking a break after a challenging year of Covid. Museums in the Kalamazoo area and close to South Haven. Plenty of room for us as we rented the house as a whole with room to spread out. Equipped with everything you’d need in the kitchen, comfortable beds and furniture, & large remodeled bathrooms.
