A spacious home located in the heart of Moretown Village with a tasteful blend of 1920's antique charm and modern conveniences. You and your guests will have many cozy spots to relax both inside and out including a kitchen sitting area, 3rd floor rec and game room, large reclaimed-barn porch, patio, and hot tub. Easy access to local ski areas and the Mad River Valley, yet only 12 minutes from I-89, you'll be ready for any adventure Built by the local lumber mill owner for his family, the house has local maple woodwork and beautiful Craftsman details throughout. A later owner took in boarders in the 1960’s as skiing gained in popularity in the Mad River Valley and around Vermont. There are still the original brass numbers on the bedroom doors. There are four dedicated bedrooms on the 2nd floor. Three which have queen beds and one has two twins. Please note that, due to our village setting and the available space for cars, our maximum is 7 guests. This is our primary residence although we stay in a self-contained apartment attached to the home when we have guests (unless we are traveling ourselves). The apartment and the main home are separate so our paths will not typically cross. When we’re gone there will be a local caretaker available when necessary. Being a village home there is some traffic noise now and then but that also means we are on pavement…so getting in and out, even in snow, is not a problem. The entire main house with its three floors is open for the guests to use, as well as the spacious back yard and timber-frame porch (some of the closets are locked as they contain personal items). The backyard is adjacent to the school playground and beyond the playground is the town forest. While we do not allow our guests to bring their pets, please note we do have a cat that is in the house when we are if there are allergy concerns in your party. Leo the cat hangs around the backyard and porch area year round . He loves airbnb guests. so you will most likely see him around during your stay :) Linens, towels, guest shampoo and soap are provided. There is parking for three cars onsite.
