During the SUMMER MONTHS there are a lot of festivals on the occasion of local Holy Monasteries, temples and also there are organized various festivals dedicated to local products. For example the eftazimo(traditional bread) festival in Kroustas, the Afentis Christ festival in Voulismeni(6 August) and celebrations for Mother Mary in August, in Neapoli(15 August).

During February & March, April visit watch the local Halloween festivals that taking part and follow the local diet of their tradition before Easter come in April!, become part of the villagers’ company and enjoy delicious appetizers, plenty of raki and traditional music by local musicians!!!
DECEMBER and JANUARY you can join olives collection and after you can watch the whole procedure of olive oil production
EASTER in AGIOS NIKOLAOS and also in villages!
A unique expirience!
Easter in Agios Nikolaos is perhaps the most impressive in Greece. The faithful start gathering round the lake at 11 p.m. on Easter Saturday in order to get the best positions.
The best view is if you climb up to the small park above the lake of Agios Nikolaos, from where the scene is even more spectacular. The priests come to the lake from a nearby church around 11:30 and the service of the Resurrection is held on a special platform.
At midnight the chant “Christos Anesti” (Christ is Risen) is heard, and night turns to day as hundreds of fireworks are let off. At the same time the effigy of Judas, hanging on a raft in the middle of the lake, is set aflame.

Bus passes from the village every one hour
The way from the airport to Adrakos Apartments is 60 minutes.
You follow the national road Heraklion - Aghios Nikolaos, you turn left to the way of Elounda at the entrance of Agios Nikolaos, in the traffic lights, it has also sihns up in the road, you can follow them, and after 6km is the Adrakos Resort.
Car parking is 10m from the Adrakos Resort up in the main road of Agios Nikolaos - Elounda.
Flights
There are daily flights throughout the year to and from Athens with
Olympic Air and Aegean Airlines, Ryanair and Sky Express S.A. to Heraklion, Chania, Sitia.
Airlines offer cheaper fares if you book in advance, and online, with their etickets.
They also offer cheap add-on fares if you book their through flights from/to another
country, e.g. London/Athens/Chania.
Look out for special winter offers on off-peak winter dates - usually in
November and January/February/March - when prices start from around 30 Euros one
way, including all taxes, between Crete and Athens.
Ferry
Ferry services run daily to and from Piraeus to Chania and Heraklion
throughout the year.
ANEK lines run overnight services to and from Piraeus/Heraklion and
Piraeus/Chania daily (approx 9 hour sailings).
Blue Star / Superfast Ferries run services to and from Piraeus/Heraklion daily.
Minoan Lines run an overnight service to and from Piraeus/Heraklion daily
(approx 9 hour sailing)
All have large modern ships with comfortable lounges, bars and restaurants.
At peak times - weekends and holidays throughout the winter (e.g.
Christmas, New Year, Apokries, Easter) as well as during the summer, the
ferries can be very crowded and advance booking is essential around peak
dates.
Ferry prices start at 29 Euros per person one way for deck class.
